Lots of people have said it, I don't know their names, I just remember all the complaints because next gen you got to pay for Multiplayer.

And I only got PS+ now because it was cheap and for multiplayer so it's ready for when I get my PS4, all these games are a bonus for me now.

I would estimate that if you added up the actual number of people who were complaining about the value of PS+ and the people who have PS+ now who are complaining about paying for MP next gen, you'd have literally ones of people you can cite. Most of the noise about the pay-for-online was pushback from XBL fans who have had it thrust in their faces for years that PSN didn't charge for online.
 
it is fantastic value for anyone who is buying PS3 and not such good value for those of us who have had PS3 for years and own or have played most all PS+ games.

next months games look great, unfortunately i already own 2 of them and Dragons Dogma i don't fancy.
i don't own a Vita, but still select them for download so that there is a record of them on my account just in case i do get a Vita and will then have plenty of games to re-download.

also love the auto updates it allows.
 
The issue has never been value. The problem was people comparing XBL, which is the entire online service, to PS Plus which is a perks service.

But now they should be able to as PS+ will be a total online service but still have the free games.

I'm wondering how long the free games will keep up. You would think they would have to run out of free games eventually, or after a while do they just repeat them again ? Specailly for PS4 as it won't have many games early on.

What is the value of PS Plus during the launch window is the question everyone should be asking. Because if you don't want to pay for online, but want it for the free games your first six months with PS Plus when the PS4 comes out may disappoint many people.

Yes we can compare this upcoming gen. Right now you can't.

It won't take long for people to get over the fact that they are paying for online. THis happened with Xbox originally, but once you pay it once, you know it's worth it specially with PS+ , as you get the added value of free games where MS doesn't give you anything like this, but they SHOULD.
 
For me, PS+ is an excellent value because now I always have something to play, even if it's a year or two old. Right now my backlog has XCOM, Saint's Row 3, Sleeping Dogs, Hitman, and Battlefield 3. Living south of the border means that games are very expensive, even years after launch. If I were to buy those games I just listed it would cost me around 200 dollars still. Also, I have about 6 or 7 good PS Vita games now but no Vita...and I'm seriously thinking about getting on.

Also you get 1 gold for the console and everybody in that house gets gold. I think that is more better then the PSN+ Sub which I still see this a big bashlash coming because I am pretty sure they are millions of people still have no clue about this Sub for SONY.

MS cant be blamed for this because they did this from day one SONY always talked about free online and now all of sudden you have to pay to play online.

I have seen 7 people today at gamestop didnt know about it and now they are not sure.

splinter cell: blacklist released august 23rd at £35. i have just ordered it 1 month later for £18 — that's half the price
 
The value is subjective. It you aren't into those games or already played them than it isn't. Sony has been behind MS with its online component of its consoles for years now. While I'm not against them giving away free stuff for Plus, it's hard to deny the intentions.

On the flip side MS is giving away free games on Live, albeit to keep up with Sonys handouts. The difference Live is a complete product and doesn't need a gimmick to get people to subscribe.

Do say that loud around here you will get bashed for it. Don't you know MS can't do any wrong on here and they are like a god...... that charges you for all his services.

But then they always say but you don't get to keep the games on PS+ and you do for Xbox, but who would want to keep those free games MS gives you, that's the thing.
 
I buy the games I want when they release and we will need Plus just to game online making it mandatory. I’m getting the Watch Dogs PS4 bundle and will buy Killzone at release. And we get Drive Club as Plus members. So I won’t be hurting for nexgen games for a while.

But I wonder what the game giveaways will be for the PS4. To be honest I wonder if Sony will give any games at all for the PS4 for its first few months out since all those games will be new. Killzone, Watch Dogs…….they can’t give these games out for a while at least. Be nice for those who don’t purchase them though. Maybe Sony will just run discounts on content for a while before they start the game giveaways again.

I don’t even know what that game is about. All I’ve seen are seizure inducing lights and effects. Should be right up my alley. :grin:
 
Well, we think it is at least. It's supposedly confirmed for Europe as a PS+ free launch title, but some other reputable sites (IGN for example) have it listed for US as well. Is the same dev who made the Super Stardust games and Dead Nation. :bang:

I know they've supposedly confirmed a few other indie titles as future PS+ games (Outlast for example).

Cross-game party chat will be available to all PS4-owners, not just plus-members. :)
So if you're playing Uncharted 4 single-player, without plus, you could still form a party and chat with people on other games. :)

If the master-account on a PS4-system has plus-subscription, all sub-accounts using that PS4 will have access to the online play of PS-plus aswell - no need for family-subscriptions or similar. :)

Not certain if the sub-accounts get to shop at PS+ prices tough (10% extra on all sales), or download free games, but if the master-account downloads/buy them, they all can play them.
If you keep setting up the systems with the same master-account you shouldn't have trouble - but if one of the sub-acciounts sets registers a Vita with as a master-account, he'll not get access to the plus-stuff on the Vita, since the master-account there is not a PS-plus subscriber.
Then he will need to subscribe aswell.

SCEE confirmed they've made a deal with Housemarquee at Gamescom, confirming that Resogun and DriveClub will be free at launch.
SCEA confirmed DriveClub at launch. Don’t Starve, Outlast and The Secret Ponchos would also be free for PS4 during the first year, they said in a press release at E3.
