Andor: A Star Wars Side Story - Season 2 August 2024

Didn’t clone wars series do the same but still have some familiar characters?

I feel this show is the exact opposite of what every Star Wars animated show has been. The pacing and format is much slower and clearly made for adults. I'm not sure there's ever been a single mention of "Jedi" or "the force" in the entire show. No over reliance on major franchise characters or regurgitation of the same ideas and themes we've seen over and over and over. It's finally a show that makes the universe seem like an actual universe and not just a small group of the same 20 or 30 characters who show up with cameos over and over again. They're finally showing the Empire being evil and showing why a Rebellion would actually exist (and that the Rebellion themselves aren't wonderful do-gooders either). We're also finally getting realistic "grey" characters who aren't all bad or all good on both sides, but are also believable and have actual character arcs. When we see new ships, droids, or aliens, they seem believable inside of the universe and aren't completely ridiculous. Etc., etc., etc.

I guess there’s only four characters that we’ve seen before. Two began a new relationship, and the other two are now like mid way through their life.

I didn’t have cable as a kid… I’ve seen like six of the eleven shown.

For a while, we had one of the old style giant Satellite Dishes. We had some of the standard channels, but could re-point the dish and find some random broadcasts.

I thought it was weird to see the feed intending to go the News Control room and the reporter just hanging out looking impatient waiting for their part of the show.

Anybody else notice how the show without any woke crap absolutely destroys Disney's other shows that are full of it.

This is what happens when you give talented people the freedom to do what they want and the money to make it work. I doubt they will learn the right lessons from this though.

They didn't learn that lesson from Rogue One.

Streaming services seem to be going through the same issues as video games. Everything is rushed and quality is crap. The stories aren't even coherent or logical. They just hope nostalgia keeps everyone going. Boba Fett exists because they didn't want to lose subs, and the Mando actor was filming something else (Last of Us, I believe). So they threw something together which made little sense and was basically an extended Mando trailer.

They are more worried about hitting a date on the calendar instead of quality. Good stories are good stories, and bad ones are bad. It doesn't matter how many great characters you throw at an awful plot. It isn't going to work.

At least Boba Fett tried to expand on the universe a little with the Tusken Raiders. More than you can say for Obi Wan which not only is bad and looks cheap but is also completely pointless.

Only Disney really. All The stuff I have seen over the last few years from other big streaming sites has been fine.

Watched the finale. Enjoyed it.

Really enjoyed. Easily the best live action show Disney have made.

There's a post-credits scene after the finale, just in case anyone missed that. It might answer one little question you may have wondered, previously.

Well, THIS is interesting, about the 2nd season! From Tony Gilroy:

"We're going to be covering four years. Every time we do three episodes in the second half, we jump ahead a year. When we come back to the show for part two, it'll be a year later. We'll do three episodes, and then we'll jump a year. Then we'll do three episodes, and then we'll jump a year on that. That last year will be the year that takes us into "Rogue [One]." We have some pretty interesting storytelling opportunities."

Also, Gilroy on Kino, when asked if he survived: "We didn't see him die".
