Andor: A Star Wars Side Story - Season 2 August 2024

Kind of slow to start but you have to appreciate them making a show on location and not just in some studio that looks like s*** and for not making another show that relies on fan service.

I'm linking this so far. Very slow first 2 episodes, but of course we really don't know much about this character even though he was in a movie, so it kind of works. I am thinking that things are going to factor in somehow to the story and isn't just background.

Ok loved both seasons of Mando. Boba Fett and Obi Wan, not so much and not in the slightest interested in Andor.

Yeah I am pretty shallow lol, I’ll admit it, I’d rather see a movie with amazing action over a good story tbh. If I want drama then I’ll watch shawshank redemption or green mile, but if I am watching an action movie like Black Adam, I just want dumb but very cool stylised action.

So is this more the drama or action sci fi route please guys? I searched YouTube for Andor fight scenes and all I found was a gun shoot out which wasn’t great! So is the action any good please? Or is this show not ‘about that?’

Not much in the way of action. Its story and world building and no fan service.

It may not be what some fans want but its by far the best television Star Wars has produced.

Thanks for replying.
Yeah I said that to a friend, after I watched the trailer I was like this is the first star wars TV show or film that I am not interested in but I bet people will say it’s the best effort they have made.

I finally started the series last night, watched the first two episodes. I'm liking it quite a bit so far, cool to see a Star Wars show clearly made for an older audience.

This show works because it is telling us a story about characters that are new or we barely really know. It is actually telling stories we don't know. Seeing the start of the rebellion and the clamping down of the Empire is great. Stellan Skarsgard is amazing, even if he is barely in some episodes.

I love how it isn't the perfectly pure rebels, they actually have to do bad things to succeed.

Didn’t clone wars series do the same but still have some familiar characters?

Honestly I never watched any of the cartoons. I need to.
Speaking of cartoons I grew up on these cartoons....back when cartoons were good:

Felloni was in charge/show-runner for them; clonewars, rebels, tales of a Jedi and the mandalorian (even directed an episode, I think). There’s other Star Wars animated series that his name is associated with but not really his doing.

He was George Lucas’s padawan on the prequel trilogy.

When I was a kid, my dad would moonlight as a sales caller for our local cable. He'd make a few extra bucks, but we got everything at no cost. HBO, Skinemax, everything. I was watching Cheech And Chong movies at like 8 years old and couldn't for the life of me figure out what was so funny.
