Why does it seem like everyone in this game time travels except for me.
The dark truth about New Horizons is that it takes place in the afterlife. Why else would you allow yourself to be faried across the ocean having to make a whole new life for yourself then get charged for it by some shifty dude. So they're ghosts, thats why it seems like they time travel.

So...I never played this series, but I played a bunch of Stardew Valley...I liked it but ultimately fell off because of the stressing gameplay when having to hurry with the dungeons before guy fell asleep. I really don't like to be forced to stress through a game and feel like a miss things a la Dead Rising 1 (although I still loved that game bc Zombies). Is this using the same type of gameplay?

I never played stardew valley and this is my first animal crossing game.
I don't feel like there is any pressure to do anything in this game haha. You play it at your own pace.

Lots of people game the system with what is called "time travel(they change the date/time on their switches)." I've also seen there is whole spread sheets and online systems regarding the turnip system which is comparable to a stock market type system. People post on forums when turnips are high prices on their islands and people come to their islands to sell the turnips for a fee.

I'm not that into animal crossing to put that much effort haha. I just like to wind down with it. Do some fishing, decorate my house, etc.

I played it pretty faithfully for like a month and then just stopped playing it. Not sure if it was because I got burned out or just bored. Most Switch games I play for 20-30 hours pretty quickly and then fade. It was fun but just don't have a lot of interest in putting it over my game time elsewhere.

Tomorrow is gonna be the first day I take a break from this game. Realized I needed one after just rushing through all my daily errands today just to play something else.
