Anthem

The friend I'm playing this with is the one I normally play games with. We liked Destiny games but haven't played the DLC for D2 yet. Division 2 we've both decided to hold off on for a bit as we were thinking about Anthem being the loot shooter for now. But honestly after this past weekend I've really soured on the game. I'm only level 17 right now and judging by the complaints over loot, it's only going to get worse from here until they patch it.

Using Origin Premier was a great decision for this game. I'm done with it until they fix it and release a lot more content.

Gonna finish my month of premier out playing Darskiders 3.

Yea I have Premier as well although went with a year, as I figured I'd get plenty of time out of Battlefield 5 and Anthem. Still plenty of time to do that I guess but so far it has been a bust and I'm not sure what other big EA games will be out before my year is up. I do want to play a few of the older games on there and possibly 3rd party games so not all is lost I guess.

I bought the full game :(

I still have hope they can improve it a ton down the road. I just think it is going to be a long wait.

I'm thinking this game was play tested by....maybe 2 people, once a month.

What's scary is the game is getting worse. I am having way more bugs now than with early release/beta. Early on there were lots of bugs, but not all the time. Now I see major bugs every time I play.

I tried to play for a bit last night and had enemies appearing and disappearing. I finished up a quick quest and logged out. I think I am just going to shelf this game until there's a major stability update.

Was listening to Giantbomb who all said the same. Game has more issues with each update

Yeah there is definitely something worse going on over the past few days or maybe week. A lot of people saying it is the server side stuff which makes sense with enemies just popping in. Lots of people getting hit with things they never saw.

Plus the disconnects seem way worse. It could just be bad luck on my part but doesn't seem so.

I got a couple of weeks out of it. By the time. Division 2 releases next week I’ll be finished most it. I’m looking forward to what they do with this game over the next few months because I’d come back and play immediately if they started adding to it and improving it.

I still play this daily, its a great game to put on while you have podcast or something on the side, brainless fun and nice to look at

The core gameplay is fun for sure. The game has a lot of issues, but bugs can be fixed. The combat is just a lot of fun. I popped back into Destiny 2 for a bit and Anthem has that same "hook" on the mechanics. It is just mindless fun to blow things up.

If Bioware survives this, I would like to see a new Dragon Age with this engine. The game world looks amazing. I'd also like an open world PvE Dragon Age as well. You'd lose out on the strategy aspect of it I guess but it could still be fun.

My only fear with Anthem is that EA abandons it. I think there's a solid core here worth fixing. I think that fixing is going to take months though. If they put the time in, this game can be good. I just don't know if enough people will buy microtransactions to keep the game going. Oddly enough a popular complaint is that they aren't selling enough stuff.

The drop rates are just stupid. I ran two strongholds yesterday and came out with 6 masterworks and two legendaries. At that rate it wouldn't take but a few days to have almost everything I could want.

So many things about this game just make me shake my head.

This is a little more Diablo than Destiny. You may get things fast, but you probably don't have a good role on it. Most people who are grinding are trying to get good roles on their items. It's a little different kind of chase than what something like the Division would go for.

I guess they had a livestream today and addressed a few things but ultimately left people wondering about the state of the game.

At best they are going to have a patch that fixes some of the issues by next week.

Got my first MasterWorks. A level 45 full auto assault rifle with a great roll on it. 20% extra damage, 30% increased mag size, 5% fire damage, 10% rate of fire. The thing is freaking monster.

It is interesting because some complain that drops are too stingy, while others get a lot.

There's a thread on reddit showing this may be a bug based on the types of enemies. Basically, everyone is farming Tyrant Mine when it doesn't drop nearly as much.

I got my Masterwork drop on the Scar stronghold from a checkpoint chest. I’ve been getting really good epic gear on all the strongholds when I play on Hard mode.

Yep, I'm going to give the game another go tomorrow. There's a good game in there. Somewhere. :)
