Hi, just wondering if this forum is successful is there any thoughts of expanding this site so it can have gaming news, Game reviews, and game previews like other gaming sites ?

Kind of like how the old team Xbox was. I remember every single day I would check gaming news there about Xbox. But hopefully this site will have all gaming news, or maybe just PS4 and leave Xbox1 out of it :tounge:

I like the idea. Was actually thinking about that the other day. A spot for user's of the site to write blogs (like TXB Base) might be a cool feature too.

Was also thinking about that a few days ago when I was visit TXB again to see what happen with it (I check sometimes).

-News and Reviews from all consoles, also Pc would be nice (with maybe some sorting system sow those who only was watching for Xbox news and reviews could filter out any other news/ reviews and other way around).
-And of course a comment field below review/ news maybe linked in some way to the forums sow both shows on forum and front page.
-A searching bar sow can find reviews after date, score or name, same for news.
-Some video reviews that are put on Youtube could get much visitors to this site if done right, both posted on Youtube and linked to here.

Just throwing some ideas around (based on other gaming sites have seen), but maybe I`m thinking a bit too complicated (been told some times that I do) and would cost a lot (maybe more then are worth).

I've been thinking about doing reviews on youtube. I enjoy recording myself playing multi platform games on PC.

Maybe a section for trophies in games and acheivements and walkthroughs or cheats would be cool. But these would probably be a lot of work.

Yeah that would be a lot of work if it was just up to dedicated "staff" to write all the content for the site. But if you've ever looked at, for example, http://www.xbox360achievements.org/ , what happens there is people from the community write up achievement guides in the forums and eventually (I'm not sure how it's decided) that forum post(s) get transferred over to the official guide. If this site allowed something like that, it would make things like this easier. I know Plainview is looking for a more professional approach to reviews/articles, but I think something like this is at least worth a thought.

That is the hope. It's a bit of a slow growth process, though, because it's not only questions of content (what kind of content do we want and where do we get it) but issues associated with the server cost and the income needed to balance those costs.

I love the idea of having a front page, though. My hope is that in addition to news and reviews, we also have opinion pieces and interviews with developers. I'd also love it if we could get a developer to visit the forum and participate in discussions about the game. That happened a few times at TXB and was always a good experience. Even having smaller, indy dev's come over and talk about their game would be good for them and the site.

I'm getting a little ahead of things, though. We're only a week and a half old. As Plainview said, the priority right now is making sure the forums are running well.

It's fun to think about the possibilities, though.

Right now there isn't really anything out there that does what I bolded. When I look at community-driven sites such as Destructoid, Kotaku, Joystiq, they're all kind of boring in my opinion, too many paid video game journalists that are too scared to criticize the industry/devs/publishers, etc.

I want to see some real raw content coming from the minds of REAL gamers, not paid ones. I'd much rather read content that's original and driven by the actual community rather than some paid journalist.

I used to run a video game blog on competitive gaming and esports and a weekly podcast. We ran it for about three years then had to shut it down due to real-life taking over, sucks being an adult.

You have some great ideas, I'd love to see them implemented and hopefully be a contributor.

Bolded.

This x 1000

Hands on, no pressure to produce content, usually presents the best reviews.

I think Total Biscuit does some good video critiques, but I also think he holds back sometimes in his criticisms. His video on Takedown was spot on tho, and I have yet to buy Takedown because of his video.
