Sounds good. I'm going to look for a nice blue or red if it becomes available. Or see how plain black and white looks. So far only some alternative coulours. Hopefully more colours.

If anyone using Win 8 can talk about changing accent colours that would be great. That may be an indicator what's to come for X1 tile colour swaps.

New Xbox One Details: Achievement Pop Up Colour Changable And How to Snap Apps Without Using Voice
By Alex Sat, 2013-10-19 04:10 Video GameXbox Onemarc whittenMicrosoft
Recently Xbox fans got to know what an Xbox One Achievement looks like (if you missed out take a look at the gif below). Today Marc Whitten, Corporate Vice President, Xbox has shared some interesting new details regarding Xbox One achievement and how to snap apps without using voice on Xbox One.

March Whitten confirmed that color of the achievement pop up depends on the color player choose for their dashboard.

This means Xbox One players will be able to select color of achievement pop up.

So far the available color options are: "green, dark green, blue, and orange"

Furthermore, a user asked Marc Whitten how it is possible to snaps apps on Xbox One with using voice command?, to this Marc Whitten replied:

Marc Whitten @notwen
& they're in ur chosen color! RT @stephentotilo: I like the Xbox One's Achievement anim. Much better than the 360's.

Mr XBob @MrXBob
@notwen Is it possible (and if so, how) to snap apps without using voice?

Marc Whitten @notwen
@MrXBob Yes -- press the guide button to go home, click "snap" and a list of all snappable apps will come up. Easy either way!

So this is pretty cool . If its anything like Windows 8 on my laptop, you can change the color scheme to any one of the select colors that vary from blue to dark blue, to red, to green, to orange etc. It helps make your home screen more personal and your own to a great degree. This is really cool! I figgin love Windows 8 mate!

Hehe, customization is good.
It reminds me when a friend of mine at work complained that somehow his XMB had changed colours to a ugly brown, and asked me how to fix it. :p
(original XMB uncustomized/themed - changed colours depending on the time of the day), I responded that I had allready fixed it for him, and when he asked how i did it without his password, I just said 'I have my ways'.
Then when it kept changing, he started getting annoyed with me, so I had to tell him the truth. :)

We need live wallpapers too. They were great for the PS3. With the new power of the Xbox One, everything should be possible GUI-wise.

Called this the other day when we were seeing several versions of achievements.

But, by god, real gamers don't want to shout at their console or wave their arms around like idiots to accomplish in a second what you can do with a controller and menus within 15 seconds or so!:crazy:

I think shouting was pretty cool in Skyrim. Made me feel like a complete geek, but it's cool.

I think voice command is something, that people are sceptical, but once, they use it (when you have a good voice recognition device like Kinect 2), its hard to go back to using traditional controls if voice command is available.

The most common argument I heard, & I hear it a lot is that a button press is faster...yeah, because everything is a button click away....oh wait they ain't.

That's actually a question I've been thinking about a bit lately. I don't have Kinect and have only used it a couple times, but how loud do you have to speak for it to work? Do you have to be kinda loud or can it just be casual talking level?

It depends on the background noise lol, if I am in my living room alone then normal speech volume level works, if my kids are running around then I need to shout lol

That is super cool man! The more I find out the more glad I am I chose Xbox One.

Wallpapers are pointless on an actually functional UI.

They made sense in the awful XMB design where 2/3rds of the screen went unused.

There will probably also be plenty of clean-parts in Xbox One UI aswell - at some points it's nice with functionality, instead of a huge mess cluttered up with various buttons..

For example, if you look on your download-management list, you'll probably/hopefully have a nice open area in addition to the two-three files you are downloading, making it easy for you to focus on the information you want - and then it would be nice to have a theme or wallpaper in the background wich you liked, rather than some bland colour. :)

There are a lot of things about this console that I just really like. I know that Microsoft can be the butt of jokes at times for their "all-in-one" strategy, but all of the varying aspects of the console and its abilities really appeal to me.

I think customization is really important. I love that we can change the colors of the UI to reflect the achievement/notifications. I hope they just give us a color palette at some point and let us go to town.

Flu season is coming up. Sore throats will be in abundance, and MS is looking out for us.
I've had the flu for last week. Main problem with voice controlls has been my inability to speak without croaking.

Awesome. I was a little worried the snapping feature might not work without voice. Nice to know it does and it is a easy, Simple process.
