I think I will download it now.
I think it’s a great game dude but take your time with it. Use free load outs all the time at the start until you start building up a decent inventory. Learn to use the Don’t Shoot emoji and use when you come across other players. If you hear it back by and large that other player won’t attack. Don’t attack other players to make sure you get weighted in the PvE centric lobbies. I think it takes 7 to 10 games for that kick in. But remember that there is always a chance of another player attacking. Hence remember to also use Don’t Shoot

Bought it on Xbox and now refunded it. Still can’t get my Xbox to work with my headset microphone. Bought on my PS5 Pro now.

The platform you play this on is irrelevant. I play on Xbox with some buddies and we have some on PC and one or two on PS.

So I started the game. It took me at night down a mostly unlit road, showed me how to loot a car, then I moved forward and a guy tried to snipe me, but he was taken out by a helicopter. Then I accessed an elevator while being attacked by drones shooting at me. Took the elevator down to a room, looted. the room, and then went to leave the room and open the door, and they took me down and looted me. I then went outside, attacked by a couple more drones. Then I created my character. I started the first "quest", but did not choose to matchmake in a group. The goal was to loot 3 containers. So I went walked over there and found 2 random players, playing together. I walked up and did the don't shoot emoji, and they welcomed me to their loot looking for that quest. Essentially, based on that quest:

  • Deadly drones but no deadly people
  • I didn't know where to find the three items to loot, but I just followed them. Not sure if that was part of the compass on top wit the white squares with arrows in them, as to where you find the loot you need?
  • I lost track of the two guys I was hanging with on that quest and I didn't know how to find them again. I looked on my map for colored arrows maybe to show where they were? But no dice. I figured out how to end the quest now that they had done the 3 mandatory loots. So now I have access to the next quest
  • I lost all my s*** when I died, TWICE. One secure pocket or whatever is not enough, if that is what that is for
  • My chicken is crafting for me?
  • Is this game about those drones?
  • Is this how the entire game plays essentially?

Drones are always deadly. People can be deadly but generally if you don’t attack them they won’t attack you. But this is not a hard rule.

Loot will have a Type. Residential, Mechanical, Industrial etc. you will symbols that map that indicate what area has what Type.

You only get squad markers if you join a squad game. The Let’s Team Up Emoji doesn’t actually squad you up with other players. It just lets them know you might want to tag along with them. There are no quest markers on the map ever. You need to read the quest and try to find the place you need to go. Gamespot have an excellent guide for this that I used at the start.

One safe pocket is all you will have for ages. Don’t be worried about losing loot. It’s all easy to replace. Just be careful engaging the drones. They are lethal.

Yes. Your chicken is awesome.

Yes the game is about the drones and what happened.

Essentially.

Solo v Squads? Why would anyone even want that as a specific condition? Unless they are widening match making to put solos into squad sessions more regularly maybe? Hope not.

Some comments on another tweet said they think it's related to benefit streamers? I have no idea what that means.

The ice has thawed - Unprepared Raiders have fallen, the hardy survivors must press on. Here’s what’s coming tomorrow when Headwinds launches!

Solo VS Squads• A new matchmaking option for LV40+ Raiders, take on full squads as a solo Raider for higher risk and higher XP.

Trophy Display Project• Turn the tables and hunt down the ARC, fill your trophy case, unlock valuable rewards.

Bird City Map Condition• Loot-packed nests appear as flocks of birds return to Buried City, watch your back on the rooftops.

@D-V-ANT

"Solo vs Squads: Matchmaking Option
For those that have passed level 40 and are up to the challenge, it is now possible to test yourself as a solo in a lobby of squads. Will you be a hunter, a silent assassin, or a hidden looter? With extra XP on offer for joining as a solo against squads, all options are on the table."

It’s my understanding a good bit of players in extraction shooters don’t like playing with randoms and would rather play solo against full teams.

Farming for loot to use, sell and build your work stations essentially. You have decide what it is you want to do.

I just assumed it was about killing drones and then making it to the exit on time.

That’s part of it. Some quests will have you destroying drones but at its core it’s about getting parts to level up and build your loadout to be better. It’s completely up to yourself how you play it.

Took down a Matriarch on Space Port last night with about 6 other random players. That was a serious fight. Unfortunately I wasn’t fast enough to any good loot from the wreck. Great fun though.
