As a Xbox first buyer the news about Sony making lots of huge timed deals worries me

Well well PS5 struggling RE8 village scene 1080@60 when XBX cruising at 4K. Granted it's most likely engine optimisation but I think we will see a lot of games native 4K on the X while PS5 will need some sort of checker board smoke and mirrors. Explains the timed exclusives in a way.

hasn’t it been said that the ps5 is much easier to develop for and has had dev kits out much longer?

I'm curious about Sony's supposed DLSS-like feature. Have you read or watched anything about that?
I don't know much about the PS5's implementation but i think both XSX and PS5 will go with it save performance cost as could the next Nintendo machine.

Imagine using 1080p of power running a DLSS 4K Zelda or Gears 6 running 4K than DLSS to 6K.

I just hope its not something huge like GTA 6 or some s***.

I think there will be some exclusive content. Maybe temp exclusive DLC. GTA sells so much now that you could buy multiple studios for the cost of one year exclusivity.

One dev doesn't speak for an entire industry but dev I know who makes game assets says that solution won't make sense much of the time. Not yet at least. There's certain instances where it does work well. I wouldn't expect it to be an across the board use like checkerboarding. On that note, checkerboarding has gotten much better. There's other techniques like image sharpening which don't cost much. I think we're at a point where "true 4K" isn't the best use of resources most of the time. Cost doesn't justify the benefit.

Edit: he's also said both Microsoft and Sony have been holding back exclusive features of their consoles that we could find out soon enough. I wouldn't assume everyone knows everything about the potential of either system right now. Specifically for Xbox where APIs came in late and they're still developing tools for next gen. UE5 isn't even ready until next year so there's no way to test how well Nanite or Lumens functions on these machines today. Those will be pretty significant for UE5 games that come out in 2022 and beyond.

UE5 will Lauch end 2021. So do not expect 2021 games until late 2022, other than of course fortnite.

i think a merging game dev work will be Scanner, or whatever they call them, where their job is to scan and process IRL stuff and put it in game.

Biggest Fu's MS can do is take Minecraft off PlayStation, undercut PS5 in price, include a pack in game, charge less than PS+ for online play/package,throw tons of money for the exclusivity of popular 3rd party games/content, advertise the spec advantage on major networks and finally put XSX salesman in the big stores during the holidays to grab those people who can't get the kid a PS5 cause it's sold out.

Bonus
Re-launch Gears 5
It was huge in North America last gen and will likely be the best launch exclusive plus it's gorgeous.
These are some good ones.

If they partner with Nintendo to bring GamePass to Switch that would also be massive, though Switch sales are strong enough I don't really see Nintendo's incentive to engage in this.
