Yikes, I feel sorry for people like that. Constantly the victim but probably will never have enough insight to understand their own craziness, so they’ll probably spend the rest of there lives being upset.

I’m pretty pumped for this game, Odyssey is definitely in the running for my favorite game this gen. It’s definitely my most played.

It comes from their own insecurity. The people who constantly accuse others of being "snowflakes" are usually the most sensitive and easily offended themselves.

They also love to hide their own insecurities behind the "history" argument, as if video games can, should, or ever be historically accurate. People probably shouldn't be looking to a video game about magically transporting back in time into someone else's mind for their history lesson :)

I played Odyssey and I picked the male character, but I barely gave it a 2nd thought.

Nice, I like the setting and early look at the story, now bring on some gameplay!

GI interview with Ashraf Ismail who was also the creative director for Black Flag and Origins, two of the best in the series.

What can you tell me about the scope of the world in Valhalla? Is it one big map of England? How does Norway figure in?
It is Norway and the Dark Ages of England – specifically the ninth century. In terms of England, it is quite a large map. We focus on four major kingdoms of England during this time period: Wessex, Northumbria, East Anglia, and Mercia. So for history buffs, they can look for that. It’s a large part of England, and within that you have three major cities: London, Winchester, and Jórvík (now called York in modern days, but Jórvík back then). And then we have a ton of towns, and of course, we have Norway as well.

That’s the core. We have other surprises that I won’t get into in terms of the world and map. But that’s the heart of the journey. We start in Norway, and we see the natural beauty of this world, but we also feel the difficulty of living in this barren land … so we move from there and settle in England. And then it’s about the journeys through the kingdoms of England. Of course, players can go back and forth to Norway as they please. There’s a lot to see and do in Norway.

Will this be next gen only since they showed the Series X logo and not the Xbox One logo? Just looked again, I see the X1 logo.

Smart Delivery is the way to go. Glad to see that we won't have to buy remaster versions of the same game. Kudos to MS and Ubisoft.
Too bad that doesn't trickle into PC delivery for third party as well.

The only worry is I remember they intentionally toned down the Xbox One improvements to black flag so they didn’t make the 360 version look bad by comparison.

Hopefully they don’t take that approach this time!

I never heard that, the improvements on the PS4 version were very noticeable over the PS3, the rain effects looked much better etc. There was a little bit of a downgrade from the first gameplay they showed to the actual release but that had nothing to do with not making the old gen look inferior they just had to make changes as time went on. If you watch the first in gameplay demo they did at Sony's E3 event the fire effects look better than they do in the final game. I don't believe they'd downgrade a next gen game so the old one doesn't look bad, cross gen games never take full advantage of the new hardware especially at launch they just don't have the time.

If I'm being honest I don't think the screens they've shared for this game look mind-blowingly good, they look nice don't get me wrong but they look like a prettied up current gen game to me, I was kind of expecting more but I shouldn't have been since this is a cross gen launch title. Hopefully it looks better in motion :) Either way I can't wait to play it and it'll be one of the first games I pre-order.

Not wise taking ubisoft screenshots seriously. They're always heavily edited and show animation/effect quality that gameplay never does.

Taking ANY screenshots seriously of CGI or art. Been this way since Pole Position.
