It's an ability, not skill. You find them in the books; yellow loot symbols scattered around, usually in cities such as Yorvik and Lunden.
Yup, Skills are unlocked via points from leveling up and Abilities are found in the game world. I keep hoping to find the lvl2 Dive of the Valkyries book of knowledge, I watched a video of it and the lvl2 upgrade adds an AOE effect which will come in handy.

That's probably my most used ability, I'd love a level 2 as well.

Do you possibly remember the name of the slowmo bow ability? I haven't found that one yet, having a tough time searching for it online.

"Focus of the Nornir"

I feel like I shouid have bought this instead of Watchdogs.

WD was half price. But I'm not really getting into it yet. They haven't done anything interesting with the hacking mechanics.

Swede got you covered. I knew its name was "focus of something" but couldn't remember the exact name. For melee abilities the Dive is my favorite but I also like the rush and throw ability, I won't spoil it but the lvl2 upgrade makes it even better and more brutal.

Whenever I see one of those NPCs that for a small fee will highlight something on the map I always choose "books of knowledge" which has helped me to find some upgrades. I find that even if its in an area of much higher level than I am its possible to sneak in and get the loot without having to do any combat. As long as you're a patient, sneaky bastage its possible.

I just got the second level of that one last night, using it a ton already. Super powerful, you can even take out some of the elites with one use.

Not worth even at half the price in your opinion ?

I literally just started. So I don't want to bash it without playing it enough. But so far it's, hack a door to get to a thing to unlock another door to get the more important thing, then drive to the next objective.
Once you start to recruit operatives with fun/unique skills it get much better. In a very real way Legion reminds me of the Hitman series because in addition to the skills from your operatives they can also provide you with a uniform to make infiltration much easier. Legion is stealth heavy though so if that's not your thing then it might not be for you.

On the topic of abilities, anytime you see a ? icon nearby, that's someone you can pay for info. You can pay like 30 gold for a location of a Book of Knowledge, so that's a great thing to do. The icon on the map looks kind of like a book, but more like a golden door (lol).

I just unlocked the Cartographer in my settlement, they kinda do the same thing it seems. I need to see which is more cost effective!

Cartographer seems to be on some sort of cooldown because I went back to him and he said "come back later". Its my settlement and he's telling me to wait, dude is lucky I don't raise his rent or draft him to longship service as a Raider.

Front-line infantry! Make him be responsible for distracting the guys that throw the firebombs.

I never used anything but a controller to aim so I'm used to it. I use the slo-mo ability most of the time to target weak points which makes it much easier to hit. I have all 4 adrenaline slots unlocked so that ability is almost always available to me. And since we can rapid fire the light bow I can spray and pray.
Actually how to use the slow mo & what does adrenaline does exactly?

Thanks to Swede, I know the name to temporarily slow time with the bow its the ability called "Focus of the Nornir". Adrenaline are those bars that fill above your health bar that you need to activate abilities. Adrenaline is filled through combat/parrying and you can acquire more adrenaline bars through the skill-tree.

If you scroll up to post #606, Swede posted a handy link to the Valhalla wiki that should prove useful.

Anyone else have issues with the drop rate for hunting items? It's like only 1 out of every 10 deer with antlers I take down actually give me antlers. Same applies for most other animals. i typically just get my arrow back and leather. Hopefully they fix that, it's not like it's super fun or engrossing to try to hunt in this game. I'd rather have a 100% chance for the items to drop, it's not like the rewards at the hunter's hut are that incredible.

Yeah the economy in the game is just gross, especially since you can buy packs of materials with real money.

I've been able to get by with what I pick up so far, but there's some upgrades I could really use, like expanding my health storage.

Yeah, I first thought it was like in RDR2 that you had to get clean kills or something but it just seems random.

I gave up on the hunting. Its too random and I'm not buying a materials pack. Ubi already got me for $20 for the Draaugr pack because it looks so awesome and it has handy perks with a cool weapon/mount.

I put about 30hours into the game (I think about level 50), & done with the Sons of Ryan questline, as other games & IRL took my time.

Does the game gets better or I seen pretty much m,ost of what the game have to offer?

Did you like the game?

I’ve been really confused by skill up and a few others saying they regret playing the game for 30-40 hours. How do you play a game you don’t like for that long??

I enjoy the game a ton, definitely GOTY material for me.

I think the biggest flaw is the lack of progression. The last couple games, I felt like I was building towards something. With this game, I'm basically using the same weapons and armor that I got from the Twitch rewards.

Changing up weapons would help the monotony, but mostly there's only 1-2 good options so far.

there are plenty of good weapon builds. So far I’ve tried
Two Handed Sword
Two Handed Axe dual wield
Two Handed Hammer dual wield (crazy skull crushing going on with this one)
Dual wield Daggers (currently using this one it’s sooo fast!)
Mace and Axe
Spear two handed
Spear and shield
Spear and Heavy Shield (proper tanking building)

I haven’t even tried any melee bow link builds yet and any full bow builds.

I just don't find much gear that is better than what I have. Anything I find is already below what I have. I haven't even found a hammer or two handed axe.

I try hitting the gold armor looking icons on the map anytime I see them.

I may still be early on compared to others.

the weapons are slow to come by. I’m 60 hours in and I used the Raven armor for the first 50 hours. Upgrading it all to Epic level kept it in good shape. I’m now using the Brigand armour which gives great melee bonuses as I’m all about the melee. I just finished upgrading that to Epic and it’s awesome with the dual wielding daggers.
