Assassin's Creed movie trailer

I like the look of the movie I just wish they hadn't used Kanye music in the trailer, it doesn't fit.

Spot on Jin. I said the exact same thing to my boy when he showed the trailer to me..."Why rap music?", I said. Movie seems to be a pretty faithful repoduction of the game albeit they made the Animus cooler.

Honestly, I'm a little worried. It looks almost a bit too literal, with trying to capture the action of the game, as opposed to how the game tries to be faithful to the period it is set in.

Hard to tell from the tone of the movie from that trailer, but they could have focused on the story a bit more. That's what they have to sell me on! If I wanted to see the parkour and grat leaps of faith, I'd rather just play the game!

If I had it on mute, it might have sold me. Putting rap music in a historic type fantasy movie makes it come across as one of those cheap action movies. It's kinda like how Universal Soldier 2 worked. Just pointless action and loud music. It just seems like they are trying to be cool or something. Pass.

Trailer hasn't sold me.

Seems to try to hard to get the game fans on side rather than show why this is a movie worth going to watch.

Technically this is a sci-fi futuristic movie.

Hmm, perhaps, but even still the majority of the game was in the past and was fairly serious in tone. I don't know what the ratio of future to past scenes will be in the movie, but either way I think it would be taken more seriously with a custom orchestral soundtrack, not popular music.

Oh for sure.

I wasn't disagreeing with your comment about the music--I actually agree with it. Just saying that this is a futuristic sci-fi movie rather than a straight up period piece.

Cool, yeah. I guess I just tend to refer to it as historic because of the amount of the game that took place in the past. Although, I probably should have been more clear in my post since it's technically not historic. It's sci-fi that just happens to time travel back to the past and spend a lot of time there.

But anyway, yeah I don't know what they are trying to prove with the soundtrack. The movie itself didn't look that bad. It just came across as a cheap money-grab based off a popular game that wasn't taken seriously enough because of that lame trailer.

So this isn't supposed to be Ezio, is it?

But looks awesome. Can't wait!

I believe it was Ezio who done the Spanish Inquisition in the games. But Fassbender is playing a character called Aguilar.

I was hoping the movie would be a out ezio as he was my favorite. But now I'm just glad this isn't supposed to be him.

Unfortunately, that's the current trend to get younger audiences in. They did that with the Warcraft movie as well. They might release a more fitting trailer in the future, but this is their chosen theme for now.

That said, the movie looks solid. The stunt work and visual effects seem to be on point, so they got the action down, and if I'm being frank, the sci-fi story seems more interesting in the movie than it ever did in the game.
