Official Thread Assassin's Creed Syndicate

Yeah I was already burnt out from AC when I started playing unity.

If you want to watch an actually funny and honest video dissing ACS then this one wins by a mile:

I was through with the series by the time black flag came out. The games are all such a damn slog. Unity sealed it, I got it free with the xbox and couldn't get myself halfway through. Everything about how it played was slow and frustrating.

So no, the next one isn't too high on my list.

After the atrocity that was Unity, I'm hesitant to ever consider buying another AC game. Maybe the game will be better this year with no MP garbage.

I never touched Unity, but Black Flag was decent. The ship thing added a great new dimension. My Unity hype died when I found out ships weren't making a return to the series.

I'm looking forward to AC: Syndicate but i'll save it for early next year i think. I can't justify playing it over all the other games that are coming out. So i'll probably just wait for a price drop or something.

I really enjoyed AC Unity despite it's flaws. That said, I have zero interested in Syndicate. They need to Overhaul the franchise pretty badly, imo.

I wasn't super hyped on Unity but bought it anyway almost out of they yearly assassin's creed habit, regretted it almost right away and didn't even get halfway through the game. HATED the combat and found it more sluggish than ever. Will be renting syndicate to see if Quebec can right the ship, and I don't mean that as a reference to the ship combat because I felt we had more than enough of that in AC3, let alone a whole game about it. I feel like I'm the only one who didn't think Black Flag was very good...

Had a terrifying thought the other day of adding this to my collection of Assassin's Creed games that I haven't finished passed the third "memory sequence".

I would enjoy the story more if they got rid of the present time stuff. Just tell the characters story in the past and leave it at that.

Sadly unless this game flops the series wont get the break it needs.

Seems like it's pure sh*t.

To me Syndicate already looks better than Unity was, but thats a low, low bar in my book, so it could still be s***, but it could also be worse. Not making the mistake of buying this one blindly...

I loved Unity, lol

This just looks boring as f*ck, and it sounds that way based on people who have played it.

Take a 2 yr cycle UBI and restart fresh.

Is anybody even buying this game? And when is the review coming out? Is this going to be the final year for the franchise?
Chances are I'll buy it. But not right away. I honestly don't even know when it's releasing off the top of my head.

I'm sure once they put the AI routines in it will look better.

Hang on, what do mean the AI is already...

Oh.

I haven't touched an AC game since 3 last gen, and that I barely even played. They took what was a great idea and great series and beat it into the ground.

I enjoyed Unity... Although I didn't buy it. Just borrowed it from the library.

I was more into looking at the city/lighting effects. Lol. The stained glass lighting was awesome.

Yeah, i don't know about AC: Syndicate. I think if they're going to release these games every year they should do it earlier in the year. AC is starting to get lost in the holiday lineup for me. So many other games to play. Oh well, it will be cheap by the time i get to it.

I think you may be on to something with the release window they need. Ubi should stop tryin' to sell this as a big holiday title and just release them in the summer drought. Obviously I wouldn't want them to cut dev time of whatever the next AC is, so instead they should give the AC after that a summer 2017 release. I would probably keep buying them if they came out then, as of now, Syndicate's not on my 'to buy' list this year.

It's gotten good reviews so far (though I honestly don't trust the review sites for any game). Having said that I've had it preordered, I actually have enjoyed all of the games in the series, including Unity. There is something about the gameplay of assassinations and view points that my wife and I find addicting. I'm pretty excited for midnight to give this one a go. I think my only complaint with the series is the ending of part 3, it has made the future halfs of the game rather joyless for me now.

I haven't touched this series in years. Once they ditched the main storyline, I was done. Plus, too much AC every year.
