well after years (windows XP TBH) I have splashed out, bought a new windows PC and a nice new monitor and back into the world of PC gaming :bang::bang::bang:
I have been gaming on my iMac which was great but could never play with the settings maxed out, always on low so this is gonna be amazing!!
I wanted a windows system and mainly Nvidia based as a lot of the software I use for editing and 3D work/compositing etc don't like AMD, and of course to play games on it lol

Will post some pics later

I got a pre built system and yes I know I could have built one cheaper but TBH I didn't want the hassle if something goes wrong etc

Seems decent enough. Should be playing most games maxed out.

Yeah I was in 2 minds to get this or the asus with dual titan x, but after emailing asus twice and calling them twice, they didn't help at all. Very bad service, and I really wanted that system and was gonna get it the same day and via both the email and phone calls, I could not find out a price or where to buy the said model.
Terrible. It was a toss up between the asus and this omen x, which is pretty similar in specs minus the 2 titans, but I think the motherboard supports those so could always upgrade later

Jealous of your son's new PC eh? Anyways yea this computer is pretty much top of the line right now. Just curious based on what I see in the list... is the OS installed on the SSD?

haha :)
I just set it all up and I am VERY HAPPY. its a stunning bit of kit and looks fantastic.
I think the OS is on the SSD as just checked and got 17gb installed on there. I think I will use the 2tb hdd for videos/files etc and install games and my editing/3d software on the ssd as that should run and load faster right?
all in all very pleased with it so far, the build is amazing!!
love the way you hit a button and the side panel pops open like the bonnet on a car to make it easy access for inside, looks beautiful!

ok just had a quick blast on blender and OMFG!!! I am so happy. if I try and render out a scene on my MacBook pro with AMD gfx, it took about 20 mins just for one frame, on this about 5 secs!!!!! this is bloody amazing!!!!
so much better as when I am trying to light a scene for eg, I need to see full render to see what the final product will look like and waiting 20 mins just to find out its wrong aint good. this is a game changer for me :)

haha! tbh I was a PC gamer before I got into console gaming and I always thought the PC crowd were snobbish to say the least.
even now with my spanking new system, I am even looked down upon by some as I bought a pre built PC lol
as if you haven't guessed already, I am very pleased with my new machine, its oozes quality, its such a well built system and looks great, heck if people wanna mock me for that then go ahead :)
think I am gonna get doom tonight and although I am nearly level 200 on xbox overwatch, I am tempted to get the PC version as my son plays on that a lot and would be nice to team up with him.
pity that your level doesn't carry over.

That feeling when you get a new PC and your games run smooth as butter. Take advantage of the Black Friday sales on greenmangaming.com and steam. I know I am!

i7-6700k
GTX 1080.
Looks like you have an AIO so overclock your i7 as far as you can until it starts crashing and then tinker until stable.

Like Allstate, you are in good hands.

I actually am really impressed with 'modern' PC gaming, auto updates for gfx card drivers for games etc makes life a lot easier. Seems like it's much more user friendly nowadays which is fantastic. No trying to figure stuff out for yourself which is one of the reasons why I stopped PC gaming, that and it was hard to upgrade a system. I am falling back in love with gaming on the PC

ok a few guys advised me not to buy a premade PC like the HP Omen X but like I said before I didn't want the hassle of building one myself plus I like the added security of a warranty etc
my system cost £3500 and I just took the parts separate, not including the fans, or liquid cooling etc and it came to £3200 so tbh that small saving aint worth the heartache of trying to build one myself and maybe something going wrong.

I am LOVING my new PC btw :banana::banana:
