Batman: Arkham Knight (PC/PS4/XB1 and Now... Switch))

I caved got got the PS4 version, it has been f***ing awesome so far and I only got it for 30 bucks new. I traded in GTA V PS4 for it since I have GTA V on PC, plus the game was free anyway...

I've never played one of these Batman games before. Would this be a good starting point or no?

I would say go back and play the other two first to get an appreciation of the story and how the series has advanced in terms of controls and scope of the environment.

I was like where's the Batman: AK thread? Sucks being a month behind on every game, lol. Just started playing a couple hours ago. This game is amazing. Instant satisfaction.

Game has a Halloween Easter egg so probably has then for other dates.

Game is still a mess on PC....ugh my rig FAR exceeds the recommended but it is still a problem to run. Worst. PC port. EVER.

Batman confronts the ultimate threat against the city he has been sworn to protect. The Scarecrow returns to congeal an imposing array of glitches, including sporadic freezes, frame-rate stutters, and audio glitches, to summarily destroy The Dark Knight. The game introduces Rocksteady's uniquely-designed imagining of the Batmobile, occasionally drivable, for the first time in the franchise. Batman: Arkham Knight offers gamers a complete Batman experience as they rip through community forums, system config files, and eventually a bottle of Jack Daniels, all in an attempt to discover the exceptional game that lies just out of reach.

Yeah it is. Unfortunately I got it on the PC as well and ended up just plowing through it.(Everything except those damn riddler trophies) There's a good game underneath all that UN-optimization. Right Aqua Snake ?

This game is boring as all s***. What the hell happened? I'm 80% through the main story, and I can't wait to finish this tedious slog of a game. Every damn time the story gets any momentum, the game tasks me with some filler nonsense to get to the next point. The batmobile as a gadget just does not work, either.

Story is junk as well. AK sucks. What a boring f***ing character. Scarecrow, the main villain, is hardly seen at all. You have a game featuring a villain that, in the first game, gave you access to some very cool levels while under fear toxin, and they do absolutely nothing with it this time around.

This is a really frustrating game. It looks fantastic, the gameplay is tight, and Batman is cool-yet everything they ask me to do is boring as all s***. Thank goodness this is their last Batman game.

I think the game is really good, just a bad experience with the PC problems. I've gotten through most of it on PC but will wait until the big patch to finish it up.

This game was great, until all of repetitive tank drone's you have to kill over and over and over again. I got tired of it and put the game down for awhile.

Just picked it up, pretty fun but a real sense of deja vu, which isn't necessarily a bad thing i just hope i dont get burned out too quickly.

Edit: Spoilers around 1:48.

Oh crap I've hit a wall. Trying to destroy the Cloudburst tank has pissed me off for over an hour now. I can get the gas lines blown up with some effort but can't for the life of me finish this thing off without getting destroyed. It's like the controls for the Batmobile are changed when not in battle mode and I can't get away fast enough to regroup after a hit. Taking a break hoping a rest for me will be the answer, if not I may have to watch some YouTube vids.

I've REALLY enjoyed this title and short of the main story still have so many side quests I want to experience. Game has lived up to it's pedigree in the series and I will miss going back to the old ones without the things they brought forward in this title.

I quit playing this game, I can't put my finger on why. I'm not even 30% done.

I loved the game, played nothing else for the 4 days after release, beat it, occasionally pop around for more riddler trophies/crime stopping. It did lack in some areas. Boss fights were hampered by the batmobile, which is itself fun, but overused. (The militia "commander" fight was weak.) And as I've said before the atmosphere never quite reaches the intensity of previous games, the levels just don't get there. But, the story remains strong and gameplay is largely improved. (especially in stealth)

The arkham knight reveal was a bit...odd. I mean their foreshadowing makes it obvious, not to mention the red hood dlc should never have been cut off as a pre order bonus. even without the rushed scenes implying who it was, simply knowing about that dlc ruined any surprise to anyone who has an eye for that sort of thing. should have just included it with the game and implemented it within the story. WB at its most heavy handed, I'm sure.

Ouch. I might wait t see if they fix it then. I really want to play it too.

They're working on it but they've already said it will be months until the game is fully fixed. I caved and got the PS4 version.

So after almost 20 tries I finally beat down the Cloudburst tank this morning. Turns out for me the cat 'n mouse play just wasn't working. I went head-2-head brute force, while dodging attacks and shooting down the missiles, and literally won the battle in 30 seconds. So for me the advice the game was giving didn't work and almost had me quit the game entirely. So relieved to be past that and hopefully I can cruise on to finish.

Once you destroy the coolant system on the tank, the game tells you to fight the cloudburst head on, but i think thats done just by Batman self-commentating, not any kind of on-screen instruction.
