Welp. There goes all hope this is a WWII shooter. I'll pass on a 2143 or whatever. Will get my fill of future shooters in Titanfall 2 and Infinite Warfare.
 
The only positive was 2142 was actually a pretty good game. However now the whole near future thing is just terribly played out.

It was a terrible game compared to Battlefield 2 and 1942. The new game mode sucked ass. The aerial combat sucked ass. The ground vehicles sucked ass.

Since battlefield 2 there has only been one really good Battlefield game IMO, and that was the arcade game BF1943. Battlefield 3 added all the stupid progression and crappy weapon mods like flash light and Battlefield 4 and Hardline were very meh.

Bad Company gets some leeway but they could never compete with Battlefield in its prime...but then again, they were never meant to, hence the leeway given.

2142 had something BF2 and other present day games lacked a little - balance. The problem was in the future vehicles got worse which made no sense. It was much more centered around infantry, which did stray away from the BF formula a bit.

I get why some don't like it though, but I found even Hardline fun (again, more infantry, less vehicles). A new 2142 could just have better vehicles too.

BF2 and even 3 and 4 are great too, but the problem is you get a very good pilot in a game on the other team when all you have is randoms and you are in for a very long and frustrating round. You can't balance it as well because vehicles are just going to dominate.

Bf4 is great and hardline has amazing maps via dlc.
 
BF3 and BF4 were my first BF games and I loves them both. I'm hoping for another present time frame game. Futuristic games are lame. Cept Titanfall and Halo.
 
For BC3 to come out, it needs to differentiate itself from Battlefield and get modernized enough. Sort of how ME Catalyst renewed itself to get released. Far Cry-esque open world design would be the easiest bet.

Nahhh man. It looks like a guy right out of 'Fury' or 'Saving Private Ryan.' It doesn't show much but I think it's enough.

Ya, most likely. But he did post it as XB1, PS4, PC. So either a digital version of the board game or EA/DICE licensed his art work for the direction of this new battlefield, or a another dev licensed his art work for a game direction.

Who knows haha.

Not sure i understand what the setting is for Battlefield 5 but i do know it's not set in the future so that's a win. All those people that complained about too much WWII back in the day.. Be careful what you wish for.
 
I was just about to post that! WW2 it is! Or are those weapons from WW1..? I think that Luger is WW2

Edit: NVM, it's a Mauser...WW1. And what looks like a zeppelin in the sky behind him.

So Mauser, Trench Club, Winchester 1912 shotgun, the gas mask, and the Zeppelin. This is 100% WWI.
