It's coming, all of the EA internal leaked documents are coming true. World premiere 5/6 as predicted. this is the most excited I have been for Battlefield since BF3. I am stoked to visit the European WWII front!!!!

Can't wait! There have been conflicting reports about the setting, though. I'm hoping for WW2 but there have been some rumors about it being set in the present.
Maybe a combo, like the Vietnam expansion...?

A look into the future of Battlefield... uuh, I really hope this doesn't turn into some persistent online MMO thing... The colors don't make me think WWII either. Doesn't mean it won't be, but they do use the word "future", so it will either be a direction they are building on, or it will be a future setting... Lol that would piss some people off!

I would like to see a good WWII with the kind of detail and improvements to infantry combat that the newer games have.

FPS games need to stop with this whole future thing. If I want to play a game like Destiny or Halo, I'll go play Destiny or Halo.

Bf1942 was an amazing game. It had more natural balance just due to the vehicles being less powerful. Add in destructible environments and you have a winner.

What would be nice, is to have some variety from devs. Why everyone has to do the same s*** at the same time is beyond me. Why is it so hard to get some future based shooters AND some other periods. It always seems to be one or the other now-a-days. Friggin' trends...

The kiddies like to jump around like Spider Man for some reason. When Battlefield first started hitting consoles it was too "slow" for them.

You just described the great old-school PC shooters (Doom 3, Unreal tournament). I Think it's a disservice to label people who like movement options as "Kiddies". It's just different and works great in shooters it fits in. The real message should be that don't need every shooter to be the same. Battlefield 1942 with the improved functionality and realism in controls would be incredible. A mix of the arcade and tactical. Gimme Gimme!

If they can just get around to giving me my Bad Company 3 damn it!

It is the kiddies though. Arena shooters aren't what the kids want. We'll see how the new Doom does but they had to add leveling to that (I'm still not sure if it is all just customization or actual weapons yet).

The kids see Battlefield and think "oh boy! cod with vehicles!". I'm sure the powers that be look and wonder why BF can't overtake COD.

I haven't heard anything conflicting that seeing as it was leaked in EA internal documents....it does look like from the leaked documents that there will be a BF 2142 like expansion like the BFBC2 Vietnam expansion.

I was confident in this being set in WW2 until today, and they posted their standard bulls*** orange and blue sparks garbage teaser.

Sure, but that's different than the jumping around and having more movement options. :p Gotta have dat Carrot for those to whom fun and well designed game-play is not enough!!

Hmmm the official BF Twitter has posted 2 separate BF 1942 tweets today.

Yeah, that's working real well for DICE. Meanwhile, COD is still alive, and doing better than ever.
kiddies got 2 play something.
If DICE gives half the quality and support 2 BF5 that they gave BF4 then us mature gamers will be real happy so I say its working well.

That's because devs follow the money and are too chicken to try something new. They'll change it up when the sales slide.

And love em or hate em, CoD 4 started it off with tons of devs making CoD clones. Even Crysis copied their 3/5/7 killstreak set up with killstreaks that were pretty much exactly like CoD 4.

If BF5 is really a WWII era shooter, I'm in.

If CoD Infinite is really that far out space shooter (with CoD 4 remaster thrown in), that's great too.

For the first time I might get 2 shooters. And the two games will cover old, modern and future eras! All bases covered.

I honestly don't know. All these game covers look the same these days. Just some dude/monster/woman/car on the cover in the shadows, head down/waving/thumbs up/lights on.

Oh hey...

Awesome if true (which apparently it is). But March??? Dammit.
Another win for EA Access though. I'll definitely be playing in November.
