Not really a bad take at all. Especially when it is so obvious.

From launch up to the Pacific there was plenty of long range action in BF5. Then they f***ed it. What is funny is you are acting like they wont do that again.

I don't hate 2042. It has potential. But the beta was rough around the edges. I also don't trust dice after BFV and the whole TTK fiasco. if the TTK is the same at launch and we don't get another TTK fight before christmas I would be more inclined to purchase it.

I'm also concerned about the larger maps.

I'm glad they finally got the shooting mechanics right. None of that insane recoil or low bullet velocity.

I'm definitely holding off to see how this goes. Big thing for me is the lag. Seeing aircraft warp all over the screen is a joke. If they've fixed that in their later builds, great.

Its pretty amazing that they removed any aim assist on console so its now harder for console peasants to shoot and then added cross play with PC.

Yeah honestly that's my #1 concern assuming they get the bugs worked out. With the maps being so big, mouse is going to have a huge advantage. I know in COD 6v6, controllers can be really good, but I find in the larger modes like Warzone mouse is really better.

With little to no aim assist we're just going to get wrecked by PC. Even if the anti-cheat actually works, we're still going to get wrecked by legit mouse players.

I fired up Warzone on my PC a few times and it is like putting the game in easy mode.

I worry that turning off crossplay will mean low populations and being stuck with tons of bots.

The bugs are 100% a big issue for sure, but I don't get the "missed philosophy" stuff. I don't get how this "doesn't feel like Battlefield"? (the bugs make it feel more on brand) ;)

If the beta bugs are in the final game, that's bad. Plain and simple. I don't see this as an Anthem type of "what is this thing supposed to be" kind of problem.

I've played every version of this series going back to the 1942 beta, and I fail to see what they missed the mark on outside of maybe the maps being too large (a legit criticism for sure, but going too big doesn't feel un-bf).

Maybe I'm alone, but I would play a non-buggy version of this game for sure.

I'm definitely waiting on this to see how the final product looks. If it is a buggy mess like the beta, well then these discussions won't matter much anyway.

It's people been dramatic, yes it's a buggy mess which I hope gets ironed out as I probably won't get it if it's as bad as the beta, but I had just as many crazy battlefield moments as I've ever had and the storm adds another layer on top.

However I can see how people don't like it with the big maps and other problems, but the beta was great and felt better to play then going back and playing BF4.

What's odd to me is that performance seems light years beyond where BF4 was at launch, yet plenty of people were happy with it at the time. Gamers have become entitled drama queen cry babies.

BF4 launch was a complete disaster. We have yet to see what BF2042's launch looks like, but from history I will say it will probably not be good either.

I played some bad company this morning and yea it was pretty rough, couldn't find the guns that pack a punch? Maybe I need to play more or look at some videos but it just seemed like you could destroy houses etc and not major structures in line with all other battlefields?

Bf4 was a different story, it looks so much better on my C1 not as fuzzy and blurry, sound design was also excellent as well as vehicle control, the beta does have some great sounding effects but sometimes it seems like there's missing oomph to some of the explosions.
BC2 doesn't have a ton of huge structures, yeah there are some bigger buildings and those tend to only let you knock the walls down but you can take down every tree and basically all of the houses, even if the outer walls stay up you can collapse most of the insides even if the edges of the walls stay up. My only gripe with that game is that you can basically go into enemy bases and destroy their vehicles or hijack them.

I don't think bigger is always better with BF, the maps are oversized for the jets I think, I'm fine leaving them out and only having helicopters. I'd love more ground vehicles though, tanks are always my favorite, it bugs me that they've cut down on the splash damage from the tank cannons over the last few games.

No single player this time. MP only and they still fumbled. The hype of it being EA/DICE biggest game ever was going to bite them in the ass soon or later.

That was a nightmare for months, I remember my flatmate losing it after a couple months blasting the internet company and everything, battlefield was the only game he played which didn't help.

I really hope they fix the flickering and other little bugs quick.

The funny thing is that EA exec was talking about how BF2042 was ahead of schedule, when was it supposed to be released?

My issue wasn't with performance it's how the game feels to play, it doesn't feel like a battlefield game, the map design wasn't great and it just seems more and more like BF is trying to become something different than what the longtime fans enjoy.

The answer is very simple, it doesn't play like a BF game.

It's not the bugs, it's the class based "medic, engineer, etc" that's missing for me. I really am not a fan of the way they switched it up. I'm sure it's something that will take getting used to, but I'm just not a fan of having to assign med packs, ammo packs, etc.

Also, they need to make the friendly tag a bit more prevalent. Found myself shooting at teammates way too often lol.

They should have just kept the class based on the last gadget you pick. Pick a rocket or an AA launcher? You're an engie. Then just let people pick whatever else they want to equip.

The classes are essentially still there. You're still going to need people to fill those roles, they just did a poor job of changing it.

No. They should have have just kept classes. Gave the classes a little more weapon type variety to give a bit more freedom. Then let you pick what ever gadget you wanted. They also should have brought back the dedicated Anti-Tank class.

But no. Got to appeal to COD crowed with this Operator crap.

Weird thing is the Specialists easily could have been incorporated into the standard classes instead of replacing them

Playing through BF4 and it's impressive the amount of guns and variety of them too, hope 2042 has a decent line up too.
