i dont like the new map
The map sucks. It's like a mini Discarded map. They probably used Discarded as a foundation to save time and money. A skeleton crew supporting the game isn't enough.

Paik getting a huge nerf ---location revealed---. I still think she needs a total rework and just do what a COD UAV does at some point, but this should stop the spam.

I'm having a blast with the new map. It doesn't play like Discarded at all. It is smaller and there's way more cover. It is a meat grinder, but still has flank routes so it isn't everyone trying to go through one spot.

It does suck. Played half a dozen matches and not touched it since.

If we consider work with the new squad didn't start until this January... these things take time, especially when the first job was to clean up the mess.
Lol. That was 8 months ago. In that time very little content, even they are saying 1 map per season, lol. Skeleton crew it obviously is.

How do gamers keep buying into the PR BS. It is so sad it is hilarious.

Wonder if they're thinking about adding the ability to change squads.

Although I wish they had done more by now, I'm glad they got this game back on track with a couple great maps and updates, game is much more fun to play now.

Games take years to make.
Bringing much content (like older bf games) AND cleaning up the mess in that amount of time is a big task.

As far as buying into the pr...
It's more hopeful and sensible than buying into it.

If they drop the game after the year one seasons are done than Jeff Scrub will be correct.

I personally hope they do the usual support 🙏

The game is good, I don't play it enough though to be upset about lack of changes or new maps. Would like to see a new map actually be good and have some gd cover though lol. They're too big and too open.

Yeah they are still reworking 2 maps this season too. Renewal and Orbital are coming. Renewal sometime this month.

They really missed the mark with 128 players and these huge maps.

That is funny.

Games take years to make, a few maps do not. Took them like 7 months to add a scoreboard. Lol. Took 6 months just to put weapons already in the game into another mode. lol.

Only an idiot would think there is more than a skeleton crew on this.

Content takes longer while fixing messes.

A idiot would post about things without knowing all the facts.

Lol. There is no fact here.

The 1 person making maps isn't redoing the characters, scoreboard, etc. Lol. Get a clue dude. The issue is there is 1 person doing the maps. Lol.

We will see if support is dropped.
Again I hope not as I foolishly spent a pretty penny and have started to enjoy it the last few months...plus it will make me weary about buying the next.

Further support will come down to player numbers and microtransaction revenue. I doubt the future of 2042 has even been decided yet. Interesting that they haven't put it on EA Play/GP/f2p yet either.

The problem is we don't see any real player numbers. Steam doesn't represent all the PC population, and the console populations are split between gens so those numbers are of no use.

If MW2 drops and the game isn't f2p yet, that wouldn't be a good sign.

Either way, a new BF game is many years away. Halo is... not doing great. COD will be huge, but remember they are on a 2 year plan. I will keep playing 2042 because it is fun and there will not be much else to play. Even if I buy COD (probably will) there will be a big hole for more BF type games for me.

The player numbers are not going to be great, and Dice are making sure this game can't have a comeback with these rather poor content drops. 1 map isn't enough. The BP has been one of the worst I have seen. The drip feeding of reworked old maps. None of this helps gain a solid playerbase.

Look at BF V, that game was dying then they dropped tge Pacific and those player numbers boomed, until they f***ed with the TTK again. That is what 2042 needed for 2 or 3 seasons to have a chance, that also includes fixing all the other issues quickly.

It is highly unlikely support will go beyond season 4.

"All in on Battlefield" (note that it does not say 2042)

Ridgeline working on SP campaign for new game. I hate to say it, but probably means Dice is off 2042 after season 4 and on to the MP in the next game (which spoiler alert will probably have the same kind of launch).

I'm honestly thinking Vietnam. Stay away from what COD is doing, but not so old as to play completely different. 64 players only (128 is what sunk 2042). Some vehicles but heavy infantry focus mostly. Smaller maps with better destruction. Still lots of cover and chaos but still some map variety.

The only small problem is weapon customization, but hopefully they can find some ways to make that interesting even if it stretches a bit. I really like the 2042 "plus" system for changing attachments on the fly.

Maybe that's over thinking it, and just go modern.
