It was controller. I think it's been thrown too many times. If it is controller then you should have issues in other games aswell.

Regardless, tanks are made of paper mache in this game.Assault has all the anti-tank stuff. The trick is to keep moving. Attack and circle the objective. When you need repairs, peel way off.
The problem in conquest is that people constantly flip the spawns, so you end up constantly surrounded. It drives me nuts. People try and take the flags by the enemy's fixed spawns and before you know it, they go from dominating the map to having nothing.

I know it's dumb to bring up and menace will hate it lol but I still think BC3 had the best MP in the series as far a console BF games goes and there have been quite a few good ones. I think this gen they've all been fairly disappointing, toning down the destruction and constantly making it harder to get a vehicle just seems so much more restrictive.
I've played every iteration of BF going back to BF1942 on PC. They all play a little different and there is no "best" Battlefield.
I personally prefer the more toned down planes and tanks of a WW2 game. I remember constantly getting bombed by jets in 3-4 where there was nothing you could do. I like the infantry aspect of it. Vehicles are great and should be part, but I personally don't want a tank sim. In BF3-4 a tank rolled up and you ran unless you were an AT class. I still played it a lot, but I prefer this.
Of course, that's just me. I actually like a nice balance of tanks and infantry maps. I like Panzerstorm, but I look forward to the new Metro too.
I'd have no problem buffing tanks either of course. I'd buff the machine gun damage a ton on console to make up for the janky aim and reduce the profile of the top gunner to make the position viable.
The other problem with tanks is that planes own them. They are just giant targets. Plus the machine gun issues prevent tanks from defending themselves. In BF1942, you could heavily damage a plane with a 50cal machine gun. You probably couldn't kill them, but you could prevent them from flying directly at you. If you even manage to shoot a plane with a machine gun, you do no real damage.
I totally agree with the toning down of destruction. I agree with most of this. I like the setting of the world wars of the past. Maybe it's because I'm a history buff.I've played every iteration of BF going back to BF1942 on PC. They all play a little different and there is no "best" Battlefield.

I hate it cause you chose a game that doesn't exist.I know it's dumb to bring up and menace will hate it lol but I still think BC3 had the best MP in the series as far a console BF games goes and there have been quite a few good ones. I don't hate the BC games or people liking them. They were fun games.
Destruction being toned down wss absolutely necessary. You may not like it but 100% destruction just doesn't work...and it would be even wose in the larger scale games.
If you took BF1 and gave it BF5 gunplay & TTK that would be a good game.
The problem with combining classes is they often don't tet used right. We need a specific AT class. Half the assault players use the heavy weaponry against infantry, and a large chunk of the rest seemingly don't use it all. Same issue when they removed medic and gave it to assault class. The problem in past games was there was a dedicated anti-tank class. So in BF4 I'd spawn into a tank map as AT, only to see nothing but infantry, so I switch, then suddenly I'm surrounded by tanks. I didn't mind playing multiple roles, but switching and picking the wrong one at the wrong time got old.
Now, they combined some classes. So, now you can pick assault and always be useful to your team (all the classes are much improved IMHO). No 3d spotting makes recon a strong class. Support and Medic are always useful and now have good gun options so they aren't too weak in gunfights. Now though, there's probably 2 anti-tank rockets out there on 1/4 of the other team, if not more.
Not to mention, the assault loadout might be too useful. Having 2 rockets + either an AT Grenade or dynamite is a bit much. That's a lot of tank killing firepower on the map at any given time.

They did nerf the damage, hasn't stopped people using it on infantry, though.Yeah it makes the assault class a little too much. I would like to see them have to choose between grenades/gadget or a launcher, not both.
I think they nerfed rockets against infantry though so the damage wouldn't be as much. I could be wrong though.
The good news for me is still no netcode issues.
Are there still invisible players? So, the game seems to have broken again on my console. Actually crashed out of the middle of a game today. The lag indicator is back on constantly and I can't hit anyone.
I'm also constantly getting this flash on my screen. Is that suppression? It seems random and I don't hear anyone shooting at me.

Looks like the next update doesn't hit until next week. No mention of the new map actually working on bigger game modes either.
Hopefully they have a lot more for us next week.
Have no hope the patch will fix anything. Haven't played for a while due to the chapter 4 patch issues taking there toll.
Going by what Dice say, Al Sundan--and presumably Mirita--wont release untill the invisible soldier issue is sorted.
Funny that their precious microtransaction content is never affected.
Can't be the engine. It is the same one BF1 used and it didn't happen there.Yeah I've only been playing enough to get a gun unlocked and even that was painful. The game is in a bad place right now. Crashes (not just getting into a game but during now), stuttering, netcode issues, lag, invisible soldiers.
The thing is they seem to fix some things, but the next update breaks them again. So either they simply aren't managing the code well (and putting broken code back in over good code), or the engine is just so borked that the slightest little thing breaks it.
I'm definitely taking a break until at least next week's patch.
Mirita map will launch before Al Sundan. Dice still have no clue how to fix Al Sundan.
It was a bug that caused crashing initially, but they fixed that weeks ago. Now the problem is artifacting according to dice.W
What’s wrong with Al Sudan? All I know is it’s been limited to small team games.
Supposed to be a patch this week.Is there a patch coming out this week at least? It is a shame, they finally are trying to add some content to the game and they just run into all these issues.
I've pretty much set the game aside for now. Wake me up when there's new (working) maps and a bunch of bug fixes.
