Battlefield V

I am interested in that Last Tiger campaign though.

I think they need to do more with War stories. Make it co op or put in some kind of wave defense/ horde mode. If you play War Stories on anything less than hard mode the three stories won’t even last you three hours.

The single player is a big fat miss. They have these huge maps and huge objectives, but little ammo. So you're supposed to be more stealth, but there's not really a stealth mechanic. It's just a very poorly implemented mess. There are some bright spots for sure, but in general not worth it. You spend a lot of time traversing big empty maps looking for ammo. If you blow your stealth, then you run out of ammo quick.

What's worse is you have this huge map and vehicles, but never really get to use them. The game screams rushed and half arsed.

My only issue now is I'm afraid to spend points upgrading guns until they drop the nerf hammer next week. The only gun I unlocked a bunch for is the Gewehr. I'm hoping that doesn't get nerfed.

I just hope they don't destroy the effectiveness of the guns. The TTK seems to inconsistent at times. I still get the dreaded 19 damage shot from a rifle which is really annoying. I assume it is registering an arm hit instead of the body or something, but it is hard to tell. Other times I can two tap people, but maybe they were already damaged.

Not only that, but apparently DICE really bastardized an big Norwegian contribution with that "heavy water" story with the female character. I thought it was just a sorta made up story, but they actually wrote the commando unit out of that story to put her and her mom in their shoes. This is the s*** that upsets me. We could have had great, real war story to play through, and they could have honored the contributions of real people who died, but they had to get their agenda in there.

Operations Grouse, Freshman, and Gunnerside, Apparently.

Here is a comment I found on a video criticizing the revisionism in the game:

" I am a Norwegian, and I had no plans to play this game because of their historical revisionism, but jesus christ I did not expect it to be this bad.

Absolutely disgusting Dice how you have destroyed one if not THE greatest Norwegian contribution to fighting the Nazis during WW2. I hope everyone educate themselves on this heroic operation and WW2 in general to make sure not to fall into this revisionist crap! Always remember there are still people in the world who believe that the Holocaust never happened, this revisionism they are pulling is the same thing! Here are to the REAL Heroes of the operation.

Makes me sick, honestly, and makes me sad I bought the game.

To be fair, that content hasn't been released yet. While it wouldn't surprise me if they did it, there are a lot of people with an agenda to push as well. All we have so far is a trailer (the SP mission released is just a fictional story about 2 guys).

If this is true (and it very well may be), then by all means criticize them for it. This may just be someone pushing an agenda though, because this part is not out yet and all we have is a trailer to go off of (this group could be in the game but just not in the trailer).

The video I watched, they guy played the whole mission and had video. I haven't played much of the SP (still on first story).

I'm not saying the doesn't have an agenda either. The guy definitely has his own view, but the info seems solid in isolation.

I often read comment sections and can usually find good arguments going on between people with more historical learnings than I.

It's interesting to see people with lots of knowledge argue and how they can disagree so much based on different interpretations...

Fair enough, I haven't seen it. I know it isn't out yet but that might be the content out next week, so someone very well may have it.

I do know that this game has a 81 critic aggregate score on metacritic and a 3.5... so there's an agenda out there. I don't mean to accuse everyone of course.

I would also say that this game has never, ever been a deep dive into history. BF1 was almost laughable with the liberties it took. That's not to say it isn't a fair criticism, but clearly the SP is very much tacked on at this point.

I agree, everyone should just watch "dead snow" for the real heroism done by my Norwegian neighbors.

Which means we need Bad Company 3.
Bout time folk gave up on the BC 3 pipedream. It isn't ever going to happen.

And if by some miracle it did, EA would just turn the campaign into the current setup anyway.

I don't think it will ever happen, but I just dream. I loved the BC campaigns.

Well had to pick up the game at that price. The trade in at GameStop is $30 until 12/20, so it’s a no lose situation

There should be a patch coming by next week along with another map. Hopefully that has most, if not all of the big fixes.

Its by far the most requested type of BF.
When they announce it the cheers will be LOUD.
Type of Battlefield? You mean a poor mans Battlefield. You do know that there really isn't any difference between BF and BC right? People only have that perception because it was the only BF consoles could do.

This game has really grown on me. I've been in several matches where it was decided by just 1. I'm really looking forward to see what they have to offer with tides of war.

Vietnam would work great with the new engine. There was a BF Vietnam on PC back in the day and it was... not good. It wasn't the setting that was the issue though. The Conquest game mode really works in that kind of war, as it is more fast paced chaos and not really battle lines drawn on a map.

I'm really not sure why people push for modern so much. Modern is so hard to balance tanks and planes.

Some good details on the patch coming next Tuesday

I am interested in seeing the German story. I always feel bad that Germans are constantly taking s*** for the Nazis and it would be nice to see some of the hard positions an otherwise good person on that side would be put into that they had no out for. The conflict would certainly be interesting.

I also like that they are actually adding new mechanics (ducking in the turret) into the game post launch. That is laudable.

Yep, Dice seems to be doing a really good job with post launch support. They've typically been notoriously slow on balance issues especially, but seem quick to jump on the big ones. Some of the stuff is annoying, but this game is still pretty stable, all things considered.

You have to think that the fact that they aren't striving towards any paid DLC at all helps a ton. I really hope the EA haters lay off a bit, as they did this one nearly perfect.
