Battlefield V

I don't mind playing medic, but I hate the smgs. Let me use a Garand or something. If they're worried about medics sitting back camping then limit the ammo to two mags or something so they have to ask for it or run to find more.

They need to bring back universal weapons.

Check out the commando carbine and the m28 trobonico or whatever it is called. You probably need company coins to unlock them. The latter one is especially good and is a bolt action rifle. The SMGs are good but obviously really situational and not always useful on the bigger maps and modes.

The classes have a good variety of weapons, but you sort of have to have been playing along to unlock a bunch of them (or earning a ton of company coin to buy them).

Yea I just started on Xbox so going to be a while lol. It's too bad since my EA account is connected to every console that it couldn't cross platform my BF5 progress. Myself and the two others I'm playing with right now prefer the squad conquest since it is pretty much COD equivalent to domination. At least in that aspect the maps are a bit smaller so the SMGs are too bad, but definitely some times I'd rather have a rifle and then rely on a handgun if needed.

Edit: if company coins are the free currency then I might have enough to buy that commando carbine.

Company coins are the things you earn in game. They get used a lot for unlocking perks on guns. EA loves these leveling treadmill systems unfortunately. There's also Battlefield Coins (boins) that are real money and can buy cosmetics only but you can ignore those.

I'm a medic not a damn sniper. The commando andTromboncano are too slow ROF. The medic class needs something inbetween.

Hahahhhhhaaaaa....new weapon balancing is hilarious.

They didn't set out to increase TTK, but they have increased TTK.

They didn't do this for xmas noobs, but then make weapons easier to use for noobs.

Worst part is they reckon pistol balance is fine and wont be changing it. Which means pistols are like M1911 are going to be more effective than main weapons.

The new meta will be bolt action rifles & pistol.

I'm so confused now. They are still messing with gun ranges, but say not the TTK (which is impossible as the range changes will directly impact that).

Dice needs to get their act together. Just admit they are wrong and that in making the game "noob friendly" they are going to eliminate their entire BF core. BF isn't a hard game on noobs and does not need to be "noobified". The TTK is fine and noobs can learn the game playing support classes.

Heck, now that COD is out and has TTK in the .2 second mode, BF feels like an eternity already.

We can't go back to the comical BF1 gunfights that would last 20 minutes. In BF1 I would get hundreds of hit markers, but people could just take a hit and run and find a medkit and be right back. As I've said though, there's this weird group on Reddit who LOVE BF1 and think it is the best game ever. I honestly thought it was people trolling just to be funny.

It is comical. They listened to the 5.2 outrage and removed the extra close and medium range TTK increase (but still has the huge recoil reduction) and says "it is much better." But then they are still releasing the original 5.2 TTK changes in december. I mean WTF.

BF has turned into one of the scummiest games ever.

I played a lot of BF1 found it to be a fun game. I don’t remember getting a lot of hit markers in that game. I had no problem getting kills.

Then you aren't rememering BF1.

Yep, the problem was at any range, the TTK was too high. You could basically run around and know nobody could put enough damage on you to kill you. Then you hit a magic medic box and are back to 100% health. The only way to kill people is to rush in close. It took 3-5 shots from a rifle to even come close to bringing someone down (and that's assuming you are hitting head or torso which on console sin't easy).

It is like they forced the combat to all be in close all the time. Battlefield is the game where I think more about good firing positions and shooting at longer ranges, but instead you grab whatever full auto gun works and rush the enemy. For Ww1 and 2 you think rifles, but instead the rifles outside the sniper class are useless. The best guns in BF V are mostly the full auto guns.

Now I do remember at range it was tougher to take people out. Mid to close range I had no problems. I also enjoyed a lot of those maps. There were some stinkers though.

Even in BF V guns like the M1 Garand are ok, but you're usually better off going with a full auto STG44 or something and being more aggressive.

The rifle should give you more damage and range to make up for single shot, but you're basically better off spraying and praying with full auto. I get tons of hit markers and then have to reload. Either the person I'm shooting at kills me or simply runs away and finds a medic.

Not too mmention how it screwed up map flow by basically forcing sides to move in big groups and use teams

BF1 maps >> BF5 maps except the pacific maps.

I personally did not like BF1 what so ever. I also did not like BFV until the Pacific Maps/M1 Garand came out. Apparently we are getting the BAR, boom broom, and other iconic WW2 weapons that SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN THE GAME FROM THE GET GO.

Patch 5.2 is garbage. Game is so bad now.

Just shows how much Dice lie. Not a single one of their reasons why rings true in this patch.

I only saw a video of someone with an FG42 inside the hanger and getting nothing but hitmarkers at very reasonable range. It looked really bad. Honestly the TTK on the rifles seemed to take too long even before they changed it. I think I'm done with the game until they fix it. I'll probably jump in on Wake just to try it and a few times and that's it.

This is just really bad and there's no reason for it. People are saying that they want to attract noobs and sell the game over the holidays, but what casuals would even check this kind of thing before buying a game? Your dedicated fans are leaving and it isn't just gamer drama. There's better games to play than this.

You can tell it was going to be bad with how vague they were being. Even the patch notes are vague and left out important changes like ROF.

Watched a bunch of JackFrags on the new patch and the game is for real ruined. This needs to be rolled back ASAP. What a joke. This is why you have CTE/Test server to see if it works with your community, and this clearly did not and is officially embedded into the real game until they decide to do something.

This video simply says it all. A pistol vs what was one of the better assault rifles. This was how BF1 was. The pistols did more damage than the rifles.

I haven't tried it since 5.2. I didn't play the game much at launch but with the Pacific stuff I got back into it and really enjoyed it, and now we get this joke of an update.
