This is #fakenews.

We know this is false because Blizzard put up all the different hashtags like against racism, rainbow flags MEtoo, & have slogan like inclusivity & diversity, against hatred on the website & twitter account. They even banned the Ok sign!

There is a MEME that you know someone is intolerance & not inclusive when they put "Tolerance & inclusive" in their bio, & there is some truth to it. People who are inclusive, not racist, tolerance (which are most people) do not need to tell people, as we expect them to be the norm, like not kicking puppies.

On a serious note. the suicide is sad, but also showed failure of society that was not educated on how to stand up for themselves. People were shield from young from even the smallest triggering thing that they were shellshocked when they get IRL & not known how to react.

I was bullied in my first workplace as well (I have to clarify no way as bad as some of these people). Collegues knew but did nothing. I knew this as they told me much later. Thankfully a kind heart manager saw & helped me. I can certainly sympathised with people bing bullied & harrassed.

I think companies need to provide avenue where any conflict/harrassment/bulling is to be heard & taken seriously.

This is pretty serious, for the state to get involved.

Need more info regarding 48, was the butt plug involved with the suicide, why did she commit the the act, why did the police go through the supervisors belongings and how is lubricant etc vital to anything?

Also, a guy got drunk and asked females to marry him?
Lol, come on, guy's an ass but what do the state of California have to do with this?

Lol 2020s

  • For every position there's dozens willing to replace you. Unless you have a rare skill set (like a senior level graphics engineer), are a rock star developer who can sell a game by attaching your name to it, or have access to a boatload of cash that can fund project you're incredibly disposable.
  • If you are one of the previously mentioned people who do actually have power in the industry, studios can live/die whether you leave or not. Losing a senior level graphics engineer can take months to replace and set a project already on a tight schedule completely off the rails. When the studio has to choose between a junior designer or the exec who decides if the project gets funding or not, they're siding with the exec.
  • The industry is tiny and everybody knows each other. If you speak up, you can easily get a reputation as a trouble maker.
  • Layoffs are always around the corner. If you can find a steady job, you'll hold onto it because even in the probable best scenario it'll take you a few weeks to get a new job and thousand of dollars of lost pay checks.
  • Game development skills are often times not transferable to other industries. Even a software engineer will have to a take a paycut because their game development skills don't neatly transfer to positions like fullstack development. For many developers, their options are speak up or maintain food and shelter.

How the mighty have fallen. Blizzard used to be where every top talent dev wanted to work at, now they are having trouble retaining whatever talent they have left and noone wants to go there.

This news just tells devs to stay away even more.

People who virtue signal the most tends to be the biggest offenders of what they virtue signal.

Let’s see how this goes. I am not a fan of recent blizzard & what was charge are mostly believable . But I am not going to declared them guilty until proven so.

In any case, the damage is done.

Years ago I worked with a guy who behaved a lot like that. He wasn’t so overt about it during working hours but after hours or at an company events he’d constantly be harassing female co workers. Myself and some buddies had to remove him from parties a couple of times. f***ing disgusting pig. The company never did anything about it despite complaints.

Meh, these guys will get fired and everyone will stop speaking to women at the office and all will be fine and dandy.
Oh, and the guys life's will be permanently destroyed, deserved of course, you can't get drunk and speak to women if you're ugly (you really shouldn't if you aren't a billionaire).
Ugly guys with semi good jobs need to learn their place really, imo.

My thoughts exactly. Me and my co workers fool around and no one gets upset. It's just guys being guys. We like to f*** around for good laughs. Of course we don't talk s*** around the ladies because of their sensitive nature.

WTF man. Don’t misrepresent me.

I don’t take any side base on gender or race or any identity.

I take side of the of the victims and against the guiltys.

saying we condemn harrassment ( who wouldn’t) or discrimination of any type and let’s wait until we can confirm what is true and false, who is guilty and who are NOT mutually exclusive!

What we should do is listen and take any report of harassment seriously, and investigate if we are in position to do so, and not dismissed them as outright fake or ignore to

But that doesn’t mean we just believe and not hear the other side, and declares them guilty before listening or evidence This apply universally regardless of identity.

I do take position and choose to believe women in harassment as default. I just wouldn’t take it as FACT until proven.

i do not know how many of people here has or know someone who been accused of something they are not, and have life ruin because of it. I had suffered depression from bullying because of a false accusation.

For 3 months in my first job after graduation, I was subject of bullying by group of oldies, for something they thought I was but false. If you asked why didn’t I just quit or report?
I can’t quit as my father will kicked me out and disowned me, and I didn’t report as I do not know who to trust and I would get to more trouble if they told the bullies I reported them.
the bullying only stop when a manager stand up for me (I was forever grateful) , reassigned me to another team, and the main bully left the company.

but I never hated him. I refused to, as I told myself to never become the people that do wrong. Hatred is one step toward being. Hatred is root of evil. Never give in to hatred. Instead took it as lesson of what not to be.

So I have actual experience as a victim( abide less terrible), and falsely accused. To made absurd claim I do not stand against harassment or any workplace discrimination and bully is insulting and false. If anything, I am particularly critical of people who dismiss or even worse cover up any reporting of harassment.

However, forgive me for not condemn everyone that has been accused before proven guilty. Being falsely accuse can be as bad as victim.

if that Bill Cosby guy is guilty ( he probably is) as charges as well as anyone who harassed they should be punished to the full extent of the law, and the victims compensated and public apology by everyone at Blizzard who looked away.

Sorry for the super long post. I don’t like to tell pity life story, nor clarifies my “position” as I think condemning any discrimination, harassment, supporting victims are norm that doesn’t need to be say but apparently you have to, or some people think you condone them.

Just so my position is clear and not misrepresented.

Stick to that and less talk about how someone who committed suicide is weak and doesn't know how to stand up for themselves.

You can have sympathy for someone & realize as a society, we sometimes over shield youngsters that they are unable to deal with the rough situations.

They are not mutually exclusive.

I do agree I may sound unsympathy or victim-blaming in the OG post but that wasn't my intent if it was read as such. The problem is I sometimes type while only have a few minutes on the go & I focus on one point, & not another & do not have time to construct a sentence well.

They are not mutually exclusive. In fact, in the same post, I mentioned companies need to do more to make sure harassment is taken seriously.

Could I have said it better, for sure, & I will be more conscious in future. I think making sure people grow up to be able to deal with tough situations is just as important, It is true for both boys & girls, as well as adults.
