Official Thread Bloodborne

I had forgotten how awesome this game is. I've been watching lore videos on YouTube while I am at work. It's really interesting.

Bloodborne really is a great game. A little too punishing but you either get with that or get out. I'm basically back up to the point I was when I quit almost two years ago. And I'm having a hard time against the same foes that sent me packing the last time. Those two Hunters that are not far from the Vicar Amelia boss. One of them has a stun-baton of sorts while his buddy hangs in the background taking shots at you with a pistol. Bunch of douchebags.

Ive seen you playing the last few weeks. If you ever need help feel free to send me a message. My character is in the mid 50s right now I think.

Thanks, I appreciate the offer. I may take you up on that.

It's because you are getting too old ;)

I'm starting to wonder if I should stop putting echoes into HP. Many of the larger enemies can hit so hard to almost one-shot me. The ridiculous amounts of HP the enemies can take with just one blow makes it seem like I'll never have enough HP to make a difference. I think I'm going to concentrate on stamina and strength and see how it goes but I'm a little worried because there is no respec feature that I'm aware of.

I made it to Hemwick Lane and it has to be my favorite area so far. And that's saying a lot because Yarhnam and Cathedral Ward are great areas to explore. But Hemwick Lane has this scary old village vibe complete with evil laughing witches that I'm really digging. I really hope Sony announces a sequel to this game at this year's E3.

At least I have Nioh to look forward to next.

Stop putting points into health when your at level 50 in vitality. So for now don't worry about it. That area is great for farming levels so so get stuck in!

I'd appreciate any tips you vets have for defeating the Shadow of Yharnam boss. Actually its 3 bosses and I'm having a tough time. I can get two of them down but the third does some new Snake attack which seems impossible to avoid.

I love how the sections seem to be linked by short cuts. I found one at the Forbidden Woods that leads straight back to Central Yharnam.

I utilized the huge tombstone thing on your right as soon as you enter the fight. It's useful for blocking projectiles while fighting the others.

When one of them summons the snakes I'm pretty sure you want to rush him and stay close so he can't use them. I also think bolt paper works on them.

Thanks for the advice. I did stay out in the open dodging attacks and switching the lock-on to which ever was close to me. But I didn't think to use the tombstone as a piece of cover from those pesky tracking fireballs. I'm not sure if I have any bolt paper but I do have the staff that the emits electricity which might help.

I'm really into this game now. I think the difficulty put me off before I truly understood how it works. This game's combat really is about sticking and moving, getting one or two hits and then getting out the way. Another tactic that works really well is kiting the enemies away from others in a group by using a rock or some other projectile. But I think my favorite thing about this game is exploring the environments. Its so cool to find a new shortcut or new attire. I found the Grave Digger attire in the Forbidden Woods last night by exploring every inch of that spooky forest.

Shadow of Yharnam is dead. Thanks for all the tips guys and especially the video tipster U2 for suggesting that "Epicnamebro" youtube channel. His strategy worked like a charm. I couldn't stagger the bosses because I was using the Blunderbuss. But as soon as I switched to the Pistol I could stagger from much greater range for the first takedown. After that the last two were easy as long as I stood right in their face and timed my swings right.

Onward to the next area. :txbcool:

That's a great for mid game farming. You can co op loads there because so many want help with that battle. Plus if you run back up where the boars are you can kill them and some other mobs in the water for about 5 or 6 thousand echoes. I use this place for boosting all the time.

Yeah, I'll be going back to the Woods for echoes farming. I haven't done any co-op but I'll bet its a lot of fun. I actually just started using the memory alter to equip buffs. I can't believe I forgot about that until just recently. I was feeling cocky after taking out the Shadow of Yharnam bosses and decided to tackle the Unseen Village boss. That giant Wolf slapped me around and fried me with his electricity attacks. I'll need a few more encounters to get more of a feel for his attacks. But I did notice that if I got under him I could take a few swipes. I just need to remember to run to avoid his electro-bomb. I'll get him just like I did the last boss.

I'm really looking forward to what's after the Forbidden Woods. All the areas so far have been a lot of fun to explore. And every area seems to have new enemies. I hope the next section is no different.

Right on man, sounds like you're rolling now. Nothing like beating a boss after you've died multiple times.

I just have the Nightmare Frontier to clean up then I'm on to the DLC for the first time. Heard it's harder than the main game so I'm a little nervous.

Yeah it's tough. Minimum level I think would be around 70 for The DLC. I'm 120 and still haven't beaten one of the bosses. :surprise:

I'm loving this game now. I literally stood up and belted out a loud "Yeah Baby" as soon as I defeated those bosses. I'm at lvl48ish right now so I think I still have a long way to go before I can even think about dlc. And the idea of even harder content is frightening.

Started The Old Hunters and just beat
Ludwig the Accursed

They added a ton of weapons and armor, loving it.

Moonlight sword is my favourite weapon. I was so happy they added it for killing that boss. I've used that sword in all the Dark Souls games and it was great using it again in Bloodborne.

I want to use it but I have very low arcane. :really:

You're missing out on great weapons and attacks by having low arcane. It's basically magic in this game. I have Arcane 50 Str 35 and with the Moonlight sword I'm dealing 1.5k damage per hit. It's a monster. Then the Tontius for a backup which deals arcane & electric damage. A 5 combo hit with that thing does in the region of 7k damage against some enemies (which is more or less a one combo kill).

Did you get NioH?

I just got invaded for the first time while exploring Nightmare Mensis. He slapped me around with tentacles like some sort of squid man.

Never got invaded in what little I played of Bloodborne. I remember in Demon Souls my first time being invaded. I didn't get to the game until 2013 maybe? Got invaded and I hid like a girl thinking he would body me. He was doing something and not really actively searching for me so said screw it and went looking for him. Turns out he was just killing some big ass dragon and a bunch of other guys. I followed him around until right before the first boss. He dropped a bunch of stuff for me and waved me off to my battle.

I feel like such a idiot. I spent like two hours trying to kill the boss Micolash. He kept killing me with this stupid magic spell he'd conjure. It took me that long to figure out that all I had to do was shoot him to interrupt his spell. He so deserved the beating I just gave him.

So what can I spend my Blood echoes on? And where? I played a bit last night (very beginning) and got past the place I was last time. Perhaps I haven't reached a point where I can spend these? I was wanting to buy something because I keep losing them, but I don't see where to buy stuff. The only thing I saw I could upgrade with was some blood thing for my weapons? I really don't like starting from the beginning when I die.
