"Next year’s Call of Duty has gone through a major upheaval, as publisher Activision informed developers this week that studios Raven and Sledgehammer, which had until now led the project, will no longer be in charge. Instead, according to three people familiar with goings-on at the companies, Treyarch will lead development on a new Black Ops for 2020."

If BO5 is futuristic I’m out. Honestly BO4 regular MP has not kept me coming back a lot since release. I still play Blackout with friends every week though.

Going forward I hope Blackout becomes its own thing, a bunch of my friends and I will for sure stick with that portion of the series.

Maybe the rumored MW4 will get regular COD MP back on track.

Blackout is the only thing I ever played in BO4 and I only bought it because it was super cheap on sale.

A battle Royale mode will get me to buy when it is < $30, but that's about it. The MP is just all about the awful netcode and that's not fun.

Sounds like Sledgehammer has been bleeding employees since the founders left. I think I read that the CoD sledgehammer was working on was set in the cold war as was what BO5 was going to be, so they folded them into one another and gave Treyarch the reigns with a tighter timeline. It just sucks that Activision has like 4-5 studios relegated to a single franchise that really is only aesthetically different each year. Imagine if Sledgehammer had been able to at least make that 3rd person CoD they'd originally been working on?
