I can only think of 2 games that probably release this year that would even be in the conversation for maybe putting a dent in COD. xDefiant and the Finals. Both of those are arena/hero shooters that aren't even quite the same. Unless I'm missing something obvious, there's nothing to really push the next COD game hard.

Each year I play the open beta and make up my mind. I saw all the flaws going into this game, but I've still put in a ton of time and gotten my $$$ worth. The game could be so much better with some simple changes, but yeah, it is made for the masses, and a few angry Reddit posts and Youtube rants isn't going to change the billions of dollars they make off this game.

I simply don't get my blood pressure up over it, because I know I'm not going to get a billion dollar industry to change because of me. Enjoy the game for what it is, or move on to something else.

I played this game a bit this weekend, all of it in Invasion and I had a lot of fun. I'm going for some camo challenges now that I have every gun leveled up.

The one thing I'm interested in seeing is how no SBMM in casual works for xDefiant. I think that's going to be an interesting test to see what happens with pure connection based MM. I have a funny feeling it isn't going to do what people think. Larger scale games can get away without it (BF) as the larger counts can even out more often, but a small, competitive shooter? I could see that being a hot mess. We'll see though. Maybe it does work.
But all you have done since launch is complain. Putting in the hours doesn't make it worth the cost. How much fun you have makes it worth it.

It doesn't seem like you had much fun.

But yeah, not seein much on the shooter frot except Xdefiant & Finals. Maybe some of Playstations' unannounced multiplayer games will give a good FPS.

That's just it, there's nothing else to play other than 2042 (which I just can't seem to get myself to play much anymore). I've got enough CP to keep going anyway.

Invasion is the only mode that keeps me coming back. You don't get the crazy SBMM/EBMM. I'm just running around with an SMG and those dual swords taking out campers.

I really won't buy the new game though, unless it has something like Invasion.

I really want to just quit FPS games in general with games like Diablo coming out, but something always pulls me back. COD is still decent, mindless fun.

Is the campaign worth it?

The campaign is mostly fun, but very short, much like the past couple of games. It is the kind of game you can easily tackle in a weekend. Some of the end missions get frustrating, but there's fun to be had.

How long to beat says it takes around 8 hours, but a lot of that is frustrating restarts.

$30 seems a little high, but not crazy granted games are $70. I guess 30 is the new 20 with game discounts.

You're not missing anything by waiting. The new game is supposed to drop this fall and it might drop even more.

They added a machine gun pistol and a dual, akimbo full auto deagle/50 cal lol. Supposedly they are super OP in warzone. Of course you can buy a bundle to get them, or do a challenge, so it is kind of pay to win (for a bit).

The new 6v6 map seems ok. Kind of big, but a lot of indoor and outdoor areas. It isn't great, but compared to other maps in the game, at least it is playable. It is a little too big for 6v6, but 10v10 will be fun.

The hilarious thing is they added skins for streamers NickMerks and Timthetatman (he plays with Doc a lot). Yet, neither of them seem to actually be playing the game at all anymore.

I might get around to it one of these days. Honestly I’ve been enjoying gaming more lately the less I play COD. That’s sad because COD has been my go to for over a decade.
