Call of Duty: Modern Warfare/Warzone - shutting down September

I'm pretty sure it doesn't work. I was playing on Sunday, I spawned and hid well out the way to drink some coffee, about 2 mins pass and the enemy radar goes up and within a few secs a guy b lined right to me. He knew i was there as he was pre aiming before ever seeing me.It has happened alot.

Interesting, I have seen more than a few questionable things like that. I play a lot of TDM and people seem to find me easily at times.

There have been a few times I thought someone was wallhacking, but I rarely see PC players. I can't imagine console cheats are common, but it does feel like some people always know where I am. It is possible that a teammate spawned on top of you just as the radar popped, I see that happen a lot.

I've honestly wondered if Ghost really does not work at times though. You may be on to something. I always use Ghost 100% of the time and still never seem to be able to hide from people.

The console crowd are limited to network throttling and any known glitches. So, yeah, not much cheating to be had. As for PC players I come across them regularly, they have the tower symbol, right? Only remember one who seemed to b cheating and couldn't die..He had like 30 kills and no deaths and just around knifing all game.

Yes, the vertical tower is the PC. Otherwise you see your console icon, or a monitor/tv looking thing for the other console. I honestly rarely get matched with PC players outside of ground war. There's definitely aimbots on PC, but like you said that stuff should never be seen on console.

I've tried turning off cross play and I seem to get better games, but it takes a lot longer to find games. I don't want to wait 2+ minutes to get into a game that is only going to last 4-5.

I'd just like to not match against PC players.

I come across PC players mostly at around 9pm onwardsGMT. I rarely see them earlier in the day.

I'm curious about this myself. I have one class running Cold Blooded, Ghost and Spotter. I usually try to avoid my team members when I run that class and I've definitely had players come at knowing where I was. In other games then it seems absolutely fine.

You on tonight?

Started playing with the Biazon SMG last night. Better than expected. The large mag as default and slight of hand perk is nice

Yeah camping is a bit overdone. I refuse to do it. I play to have fun, not be bored sitting in a corner for 10 minutes
Yea probably my favorite gun for smaller maps. I've mainly been using the Kilo and that lately.

I run Ghost on all classes and I’ve seen people hunt me down while I wasn’t moving playing defense on an objective or just waiting somewhere. Something fishy is going on.

EDIT: They definitely need to add a console cross play option. This why I play with cross play off no desire to play against PC players.

2xp and weapon 2xp this weekend.

I was just playing and I swear you guys are right about ghost not working. I swear there's some sort of wallhack or something on console. I've never really seen anything on console before other than mouse + kb adapters, but people just know where I am. I'm using ghost plus a silenced weapon.

Unless it is some sort of network thing that just makes them look slow. Usually you don't see any real cheats on console though. I know a big part of it is the skill based matchmaking. Every game is against players as good or better than me, but still there's people who just know my location.

Unlikely. You would know if there was hack as it would be plastered everywhere.

I remember one COD Ghost perk only worked if you were moving, if you were sitting still you showed up on radar. Ghost doesn’t work like that in this game far as I know.

It is supposed to work all the time. Maybe it is just mouse and keyboard people who are really fast.

So, I have a theory on why things feel off with ghost and why it feels like people seemingly know where you are.

I turned off crossplay and there's never been hacks on Xbox as far as I know? PC sure, but console? Nah.

However people seem to be on top of you on large maps. Well, I have a theory.

It is well known that the spawns are "broken" in this game, but I don't think they are - I think they are working as intended.

I play a lot of 6v6 and I get a lot of games on the larger maps like Petrograd. Now, on Shipment, you're going to get spawn killed. On Petrograd though? That's the fairly large map with very few sight lines with multiple building complexes.

I suddenly noticed that even on that big map, I'm not spawning near my teammates. I watch that overhead fly in and my team controls half the map. I spawn way off from them. I spawn and see enemy gunshots on my map between me and my team. I'm spawning closer to the enemy than my team on a regular basis.

I think IW realized it made the maps too big and have tweaked the spawns to purposely put you in the action faster. A map like Petrograd 6v6 should be really boring, but it isn't.

It doesn't happen each and every spawn, but it happens a lot. I'm always spawning out of sync with my team. They don't know where you are, but you are spawning very close to them. Not directly in their line of sight, but close. More often than not, there's not one teammate within range of my radar.

I’ve noticed on medium to big maps it likes to spawn you near the enemy.

Doesn't make any sense as far as 'why Ghost seemingly doesn't work.

I've never played against PC players on this, but I question some people's aim with a "controller". Like super fast aim and snap. Wouldn't surprise me if it was someone using a mouse.

You would be surprised at how good some players are, even in games without aim assist.

A buddy of mine played a lot of Blackout on PS4 he’d post videos on his FB. His aim with a sniper was ridiculous he could snap aim headshot people across the map in moving vehicles and choppers.

There are quite a few mouse and keyboard adapters out there. Go read about the Rainbow Six ranked mode on consoles that is dominated by mouse and keyboard players. It forced all the console players to switch to PC to be on equal footing.

That said, there are really good players out there as well. My friend's son gets accused of hacking all the time, and he's using nothing but a regular Xbox controller. The kid is inhumanly fast and is 100% legit. On top of that, at any given moment, someone can get lucky. I was playing Destiny 2 and 180 no-scope sniped some guy while I was in mid air. I'm sure that guy was like WTF, but don't ask me to repeat that again. I don't even regularly use snipers in that game.

The problem is that the skill based matchmaking is not very good. It really just overreacts to your last 3-5 games. Many of us end up bouncing between very different skill brackets every 3-5 games. I spend 3 games going positive, playing against people who hit some shots and miss others - people at my skill level or even a little below. Then after a couple games positive, it is time for me to get crushed in these hardcore lobbies. Players spinning jump headshots around corners. I'm pre-aiming a corner and they jump around and headshot me. They are insanely good. This is where the SBMM fails for me, because clearly I'm well out of my skill bracket. Then 3-5 games later, the process repeats. I drop back down to my skill level and have lots of fun.

This is why it feels like people are cheating too. You go from a normal lobby to a top tier one without warning. You have no idea that you moved until you are in game and suddenly 0-5, barely getting out of the spawn.

Real SBMM systems look at your overall performance and also factor in your recent games. COD just looks at the latter, which is why it feels so off. Destiny 2 and lots of other games have SBMM, but it never feels this severe.

The broken SBMM is the reason I mostly don't play anymore. It is like playing the AI in an EA Sports game. Do well and suddenly the tables turn against you.

I should not be in the same lobby as these people.
No you shouldn't. The SBMM in this game is a bit dumb.

The SBMM problem is the bracket you get placed in is too small. It doesn't allow for a run of a few good or bad games. The whole idea of SBMM is being pitted against equalish players, but this games system just misses that entirely. It either needs removing or big revamp.

It cares about k/d way more than skill, which is why it is all over the place. I might have a couple games where I go 2.0+, but that's not my "skill" level.

It also seems to factor in score. I shoot down a lot of killstreaks and get points, and it seems to bracket me higher because of that.

I'm "good" because I help my team by shooting down UAVs, but all I'm doing is pointing and shooting. It doesn't care that my aim is slow and I have to camp a lot more than I'd like.

Doesn'y really matter what it cares most about, the end result is the same. True skill in a shooter is mainly about things the game can't really track. K/D isn't a bad way, the problem is a small shift either way can drastically change the experience

Take something like GT Sport for example. You stay in a driver level for a fair time. It gives room for a bad day of racing and keeps you in a competive group. If it worked like COD you would bounce from Driver level C to S and back down every few races.

Maybe I worded it wrong. I meant when you watch his videos he’ll flick his aim in a direction and headshot people easily. It just doesn’t seem possible on a controller I don’t get how people can do it.

In FPS games you can if you look at a large enough sample size. Aiming speed and accuracy plus some sort of score or kills per minute (to see who camps). For people playing since October, you could get a pretty decent picture. The problem is COD only looks at your last few games. You can't take the past 5 games and determine who is good or not.

Practice and the right sensitivity.
