Not my favorite either. A couple of my buddies only play this, but it's just not for me.

For one, it forces specific weapons on you.._never a fan of that.
Don't like the maps.
Don't like how it plays.
I feel the exact opposite. I like that it makes everyone use the same weapons then switches it up. Some of the maps are good a couple I could do without. Turns into short but intense matches. I enjoy the 3 vs 3 more than the 2 on 2.
You should be able to. The filters reset often after patches, make sure you have TDM on only.
I have TDM only, but it won't let me keep the league filters unchecked. I unselect all, the check boxes go away, I hit B to go back, but when I go in, they are all selected again. Over and over. And I tried to find a TDM after unselecting them, but no dice. It keeps giving me a dialog about accepting league stuff and private match stuff.
Didn't find anything intense, PUBG end game was intense, Gears 1 4v1 was intense. Gunfight is more like a sleeping pill.
I'm glad people like it. Just isn't the right course for this horse.
So I finally figured out how to use Double XP buffs and my last game I realized there are "Missions" to complete. Are these only available for season pass owners or am I just that dumb? Because I got to level 42 without realizing this lol
This game, as far as the menu and features screen is WAY over my head. I don't have a clue what battlepass is, what a season is, why it keeps showing all this FREE battlepass s*** at the end of a round, cuz I don't know what it is. And it says free, but has a lock on it, and I click on it and nothing happens. It's just f***ing stupid.

Honestly it's a menu design nightmare. There is just way too much s*** going on lol. If Infinity War wanted to, they could add an extra tab for Missions/Challenges. And yeah the Battle Pass is a $10 thing that you use to get extra equipment and awards. Not really sure what it does besides gets you a few extra guns / cosmetics, but it's just some extra stuff to earn while you're playing I guess. And I've had that stupid freaking "Free" notification on mine as well, I can't seem to figure out what is "free" because nothing is on this game.

Season and Battlepass are the same thing.
Free stuff in the BP is clearly labelled and unlocks automatically once you hit the associated BP level.The Grau5.56 is level 15. Once you hit level 15 it will go straight into the AR weapons section.
The XP gain in this game is painfully slow, especially if you play TDM. I play TDM mostly because I prefer it, but you get way more XP on objective modes unfortunately. It even gets worse on the larger maps.
The best way to get XP is to wait for 2XP some weekend and then hit their smallest map 24/7 playlist. It is often Shipment or Rust currently. Of course, those maps are full of bad spawns, but you'll get tons more XP that way.
There should be a little progress bar on the season pass, but it probably not moving much. For TDM on a big map, it will take you many games to move the needle much unfortunately.
I wish they scaled XP based on that.
Yeah I gained like 8 levels yesterday by turning on 2XP and then playing Shipment and Rust. Crazy XP farming and it's actually pretty fun too.
Thanks guys, but it hasn't really answered my question. So Battlepass is really only for cosmetics? If I don't care about cosmetics and I don't care about leveling up overnight, then I don't need to buy Battlepass, correct? I just want to go into TDM and play matches.
Yeah it's completely unnecessary, but there are certain guns that you can only unlock by having Battlepass. Pretty sure at least, I just bought Season 2's the other day.

Only thing not cosmetitc are the new season weapons, but they are free and unlock at level 15 and 31. Honestly, there is no reason to buy the BP.
Mostly, but there's always been 2 weapons in the pass each season so far. Last season it was the Ram7 which turned out to be super strong, and the Holger LMG which is pretty bad. This year has the Grau (which a lot of people are high on but I suck with it) and something that used to be the UMP.
Unfortunately there is a little pay to win here. You can get them free on the pass and they come fairly early, but even 30 levels will take time.
The thing is, you can pay $10 and get everything on the pass, or you can pay more and actually unlock the first 20 or so levels (so you can often "buy" the first gun). Leveling is so slow in this game so I sort of feel compelled to do it. 30 levels is a lot of play without 2XP.
The positive about the pass is that for the pay version, you get in game coins back, so basically the $24 pass this season cost me $1 because of what I earned last season.
The big flaw is that I don't always want to "grind" COD. I am liking it, but can't necessarily play it for the hours needed to get XP.
I leveled up so much during this double XP event on the rust playlist. Got upto level 83 and level 20 on BP.
The problem is I don't like the smaller maps and modes. If there's 2xp I'll grind it for as long as I can but I can't play Shipment or Rust forever.
I don't much either. I'm like you and prefer the claswic TDM on normal maps.
However, the more you play them, especially maps like Rust and Shoothouse, the more you will enjoy them. Iended up having a blast on Rust.When Headquarters came up, which I hate, I just treated it as a TDM game.
I got alot better playing on the map too.Got to the point where a negative KDR was rare, and I don't camp, I'm always moving round the map.

It is like I said before, just stop caring.Stop thinking you don't like them.After a while you will begin to enjoy them as you figure out their rythem and your rythem.
I can do those maps for an hour or two, but any longer and I just get frustrated. It isn't even my stats really. On those tiny maps I usually end up even more or less (the good and bad spawns even out in the long run). It just gets old.

Any single map gets old after a few hours. Even big maps like those on Battlefield take their toll after a few hours.
