Call of Duty: Modern Warfare/Warzone - shutting down September

Maybe I worded it wrong. I meant when you watch his videos he’ll flick his aim in a direction and headshot people easily. It just doesn’t seem possible on a controller I don’t get how people can do it.

Some of them (not all) are using a mouse and keyboard emulator. They get the benefit of controller auto aim plus the sensitivity of a mouse. COD sees the adapter as a controller.

Not to mention the SBMM is messed up and will throw you in lobbies way over your head if it feels you "did too well".

In FPS games you can if you look at a large enough sample size. Aiming speed and accuracy plus some sort of score or kills per minute (to see who camps). For people playing since October, you could get a pretty decent picture. The problem is COD only looks at your last few games. You can't take the past 5 games and determine who is good or not.
But aiming speed and accuracy means little with poor positioning. Not to mention that audio plays a big role in aiming speed . Understanding map flow, sapawn habits yadda yadda. There is so much more to skill than just shooting the gun.

I agree on the '5 games' point.

This past weekend played like 2-3 matches before having enough. Went to Battlefront 2 and had a blast. Dominated a few matches, got stomped on in others. But I never once thought it was because of the connection being against me, or SBMM gone rampant. Maybe a level 400+ person with all purples, but never anything that pisses me off about COD. Was really hoping to make use of CODs 2XP weekend but it just felt terrible Friday and Saturday nights.

Had a moment last night in Dom we were holding B so I moved away from it and laid down to cover an area wasn’t moving for a few seconds with no teammate around me, when an enemy came around and went right for where I was at pre firing like he knew I was there. I had Cold blooded and Ghost on. Sometimes I just don’t get it.

I agree. The game is just so frustrating, way more than any past COD game. My K/D this weekend is .89. In past games I was around a 1.5. I don't obsess with my stats, but I take pride in at least going positive more than not and not feeding killstreaks, but now I'm just getting stomped every game.

If anything, my stats keep falling, I'm dying more, and SBMM seems to be pushing me into harder and harder lobbies. If SBMM was working, it should be pushing me back towards positive, but it isn't.

They've turned players like me who are a little better than average and made us into the "noobs". My win/loss record lately is .67. This just isn't fun at all. Players on the other team are going 3.0 or higher, while my teammates are dying 20-30 times and feeding the other team. I feel like the other team that plays the Harlem Globetrotters. If I sit there and take my lumps for 5 games, I'll spend 3 in a decent lobby (still with good people but with a fair chance to win), but that never lasts.

I forced myself to play just because of 2xp but still ended up rage quitting most of the time. All I want is a fair chance to win, but the system doesn't give me that.

Would they ever take SBMM away, because I feel the exact same way with the "noobs" comment. I'm not terrible, but man I can have some terribly bad games and then I feel like that ruins me forever.

It will all come down to player retention. The problem is that while SBMM hurts those of us above average, it helps those below. Those folks who were bad in past games are now suddenly seeing their stats jump. My guess is that they are targeting these kinds of players more and really don't care about the rest of us.

We'll see though, as obviously there's a lot of us on the wrong end of this thing. I could at least see them tweaking things. Destiny 2 has SBMM but it doesn't feel like this. I get good and bad games in Destiny but it doesn't feel this "scripted".

Just watch Youtubers like Mr Fruit, he's running around getting insta-killed like the rest of us, which makes me feel better. He's not an amazing player, but he's quite good.

It doesn't help. They have the same experience above average players have. Only the top 1% are less affected.

The guy who had a .5 k/d in past games now suddenly has a .8 or .9 or even higher. That guy was always having a tough go of it, but now it isn't nearly as bad for him. People that were really bad are rewarded by systems like this because it keeps them out of the sweat lobbies we're all stuck in.

If you are below average, SBMM helps you. If it were just connection based, those of us who are above average would have games with people much worse than us.

How is the campaign? Haven't finished a cod campaign since blops2, almost finished advanced warfare but lost interested about 2/3 in.
Is it run-of-the-mill stuff or good enough to pay full price?

Very short. It was interesting, but I would not pay anything close to full price for just the single player.

There were a couple really cool missions, but nothing like the old games to be honest. Plus I think it only takes a few hours to get through.

Makes no sense. They still up and face better people and then go down again, just like the rest of us. How you good they are is irrelevant as the people they face are better than them or worse, just like everybody else.

Yes, it does. Everyone's stats are being pushed closer to 1.0. For us, that's pulling us down. For them, it is a big improvement. People who were terrible now suddenly are breaking even.

Somewhere out there is a player who had a .7 k/d in past games who's now calling in tons of killstreaks. Dying less and killing more is more fun.

Noobs also have no idea about the matchmaking.

You do realize that if that were true they would be playing the same folk as you or I.They don't just stay down with e s***ters. If people are doing better like you say it is because this slower, campier game suits them better than the fast run n gun games of old.The yo yo effect is the same for all. The jump in skill is reletive and equal.

My K/D is0.9. I could easily make that skyrocket if I camped, but I refuse to play that boring way.Game modes make a difference. Much easier to get kills in objective modes like ground war or dom.

Based on my experience as a former 1.25 - 1.5 player, I am never, ever matching against people who are below me. My best guess is that these people are sheltered. We used to play against these people in past games. With the holidays, COD was on sale for like $30 multiple times, yet I saw zero Xmas noobs. I'm pretty sure none of us did.

Youtubers have reverse boosted and gotten into these lobbies, so we know they exist. There are lobbies with players who can't even move and shoot. Obviously COD still sells great, so noobs are there. We just never, ever see them. If noobs aren't even playing against someone like me, you know they are in trash lobbies, because I'm nothing special. I've probably barely got a 1.25 in TDM in the past few games.

I'm put into tougher lobbies, because I am decent enough to "hang" and only be a .8. They've turned me into the new noob. I'm with you on camping, I won't do it either which is why my stats suck, but if I want to sit and hold angles all day, I'll play Rainbow Six.

I'm sure some noobs are "graduating" into my bracket, but I don't see very many of them. They have to be in their sheltered lobbies. The system isn't really SBMM but a skill tier. I'm clearly in the positive k/d up to at least 2-3 bracket, which is why I get thrashed. Some noob out there is now positive and loving the game and not knowing why. It is because they are sheltered from players even like me.

I'm not saying you match with people below.You. You have a half decent run you get bumped up. The you get a bad run and come back to where you were previously. That is the sae for everybody at every level. The bump up in class is relatively the same jump for everybody.I see noobs all the time going 3 -16 or something terrible like that.

You wont do camping but I bet that noob who is now positive does.

I’ve noticed almost all of the players we go against you rarely see bad players. They either go just a little negative, even, or doing good to well. You do see the ones that camp not doing much just not getting a lot of deaths, but don’t see those that just straight up play terrible going 2-20. I have to bring my A game every match to do decent to well.

I’m keeping my KD around 1.30. I’ve dipped into 1.28 in the last two weeks. While I have fun playing the game with friends I do get tired of being on edge every match trying to do good instead of just having fun.

That is the thing with SBMM . You always got to bring your A game. Very little room for a but of mindless fun . Not good.

Destiny 2 has SBMM and I still run into people better than me and people worse than me. I still get variety without having people either way better or way worse than me. It has SBMM but it isn't super strict. I can still have fun.

In COD now, I rarely see players worse than me. I have never had a positive k/d in this game, while I've never had a negative k/d in any other COD game. In Destiny 2 I always have to play hard and bring my best loadouts, but in COD I just get thrashed repeatedly. I'll have what I feel is my best game and check the score and see that I'm a few kills in the negative.

I have to go 100% tryhard just not to go 2-20, and that's not fun. I am forced to play a lot more passively. I wish I could go positive. I don't focus on my stats, I just want to go positive in TDM, knowing that I'm not hurting my team. There's just no way to do that without camping.

As we have all said, the SBMM system. is this game is bad. There are plenty of SBMM games with a more lighthearted experience.

Can't see Acti changing it all too much either. Seems this a shut up and play or go elswhere situation.

I'm pretty much done after this season unless something changes.

I just don’t get why they went away from the competitive section in previous games that was separate from regular MP. I forget what it was called but if you wanted a challenge, be more competitive, or play as a clan you went there. While regular MP you never knew how good the teams were going to be going in it was random.

I really love this game but the way they did matchmaking sucks.

What is with the PS4 updating system? The COD patch is 13 GB , i had 76GB of free space but kept telling me I didn't have enough free space. I had to uninstall GT Sport just to update the damn game.

PS4 patches are... challenging sometimes. The system will make a backup copy of the entire game and then apply the patch, so it takes a ton of time and space.

I don't know why they do all these extra steps as no other system that I know of does this.

Of the games I have only COD has this issue. It is ridiculous.

10 class slots... finally.

What was weird is there's actually 3 patches. Something for spec ops and then a "multiplayer DLC". I'm guessing it is all the microtransaction stuff they are trying to sell.

Hoping I played bad enough to warrant going down a level in SBMM if I hop on tonight.

All I get are 3 matches with people around my skill then it is back up to the higher tier. It is really frustrating.

What really kills me is my .60 win/loss rate. Losing 2 out of 3 games over and over is getting really old. If I'm terrible, why not drop me down?
