Call of Duty: Modern Warfare/Warzone - shutting down September

I'm pretty much done anyway. It seems like the community is shrinking and SBMM is just getting worse. I'm ending up in even harder lobbies than before. I'm guessing all the noobs either quit or improved to where they are good.

I'm seeing mouse and keyboard players on PC in my 6v6 lobbies which I never saw before. On the larger modes sure, but not 6v6. If I turn off crossplay, it takes 5 minutes to find a game.

Game is running really bad again unfortunately.

Yep. The matchmaking had issues when the game was super popular, now it is just a mess. I'm constantly being matched with people from Europe and even South America even though I'm playing in prime time east coast time.

They should turn off all this skill based nonsense, seeing as only experienced players are left by now and make everything connection based. I bet the game would run great if they just used connection over skill (which doesn't even seem to work right anyway).

Season 4 looks a bit s***. The ranhdom events are meh. The BP looks garbage. No weapon tuninng. No RPG nerf. No mention of the server issuues. Still nothing donne witg the garbage audio.

You on Xbox? Cause that is a bug or something. Should only be around 33GB.

Yea I just did a quick look around and some people (Xbox only) are reporting the big downloads, and my mate had the big download but the majority seem to be half that.

Also read it only takes up an extra 5gb so hope that's true.

They need to dump skill based matchmaking and just make everything connection based at this point. Their system had trouble when the game was super popular, but now clearly the matchmaking is causing massive lag. I'm regularly playing people in Europe and South America. I gave up a few weeks back and doubt I'll play this season. I'll see what in game currency I have left to spend.

Didn't they say before that connection is the main criteria it matches by. Pretty sure they did.

No idea what they said, but the game has been a lag bomb for me for the past month or so. I regularly see people with flags from Sweden, Finland, France and other European countries. I even see some South American ones (had to google a few of them). Now obviously some people could just pick a random flag and might not be in that country but it seems like a big coincidence.

Plus my k/d from launch to today has only moved .02 in total. It would be impossible for me to be that consistent. I think that it isn't even really skill based, but more like rubber banding like in a bad offline racer. Have a few good games and get your stats up, now it is time for you to end up in much tougher lobbies to keep your stats down. I don't think they want to be honest about it because they know it is broken.

Yeah I had an 84GB update. Xbox was halfway done downloading it when I turned it on, so that was nice. Half the time these updates don't autodownload for me

Haven't played this game in well over a month, maybe two. It's still fun to watch on Twitch but I have zero interest playing it.

I only play it with my buddies, otherwise same here. It can be fun to jump on regular MP for a game or two here and there.

I only play Warrzone now.But the speed at wshich thing get changed is turning me off. They aren't listening to the community either.

Forgot just how fun Scrapyard is. Big enough to allow for multiple ways to play, but still hectic enough to be fun. Still a lot of campy spots but that seems to be every game. The vector is crazy from up close. It just deletes people with the high rate of fire. Teeny tiny magazine though means it runs out of ammo before you even think to pull the trigger.

Warzone Rumble is fun, but poorly named. It is big team deathmatch on parts of the ground war maps. It is fun if you don't mind the sniping and camping.

Using it to level up my SKS.

You know, I don't think the free MP access for Warzone players has SBMM.

It is possible, I get a completely different experience in Warzone. Not that I'm winning, but I easily get a bunch of kills and mostly lose because I'm careless. In the "regular" game I get put into super tough lobbies all the time.

Even if there is SBMM, it can only do so much on the larger modes. It can't sit there and make 100+ people wait forever to find a good match.

So picked up the full game on Xbox yesterday and been playing some of the new maps I hadn't played yet.

Khandor Hideout - Really enjoy this. The CQB on one side and the longer range gunfights on the other works better than expected.
Hovec Sawmill - Pretty good.
Talisk Backlot - Pretty good
Hard Hat - Really enjoy this. Never liked it before, but really enjoy it now.
Scrapyard - meh. Not a fan. The map design is bad. The sight lines are way too open.

On Scrapyard they should have edited out the 2nd story walkway where people can see through the floor but can't be shot. It is just too easy of a camping spot and gives way too much visibility. The only way to dig them out is with a well placed C4.

My issue is how you can just mount up and see all the way through the warehouses on either side. It is so garbage and cheap.

I'm still having surprising fun with Warzone Rumble which is poorly named and just 50 vs 50 team deathmatch on parts of the Warzone map. It is slower paced and of course there's a lot of sniping and camping, but it is a fun alternative to the constant running around spawn killing. I wouldn't want this to be the main focus of any game but it is fun for a change.

I've never been able to get into the main Warzone BR mode. Something about being able to just buy your loadouts with the meta guns and all perks seems to take the fun out of BR.
