I don't understamd why Japanese games need localiser except for niche languages.
Surely there are people in Japan that can translated to English, and other popular languages, and many local speaking people are willing to work in Japan if not already in Japan.
These localizer is overreaching, & seem like a scam job to get more money from the Japanese Devs.
"Hi, we are not just translating, we are helping you improve your game, now pay us more"
The idea of culture sensitivity is dogsht. Again, nonsense to scam more $. If not they are insulting the original creators, saying their work are problematic.
My issues with these localisers (the one that overreahing) is tehy clearly not very talented, otherwise they will be writing their own stuff, making their own IP, not translating for people with talents.
Make your on IP, write your own game/shows/books if you want to add your own take. But not, just do what you are paide for. Translated as accurate as original.(with exception of sentences that will be lost in translation)
