Sony vs Microsoft vs Nintendo E3 2014 Comparison: "Time Spend On Showing Games, Exclusive Announcements And More"
  • By Sehran Shaikh
Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo, all three big guns of gaming industry had a pretty good E3 2014 event so it was a difficult task to make out which firm had the best showing. NeoGaf user TimeToKill has made a pretty interesting comparison chart of Sony vs Microsoft vs Nintendo E3 conference and the parameters that were compared as "games with release date in 2014, time spend showing games, exclusive announcement and lot more"

Microsoft spend 67% of the time showing their games at E3 2014 whereas Sony spend only 54% and Nintendo 66%. Furthermore, Sony made 36% exclusive content announcement as compared to Microsoft's 30% and Nintendo's 92%

You can take a look at full breakdown below.

Separation of Games into release year and this is the end result

Time spent to showcase "Only Games"

This was how games were revealed or discussed at the shows. If they showed gameplay or even simulated gameplay, it went in the gameplay category. If they showed only cutscenes or straight-up CG, it went in the "nothing like gameplay" category. Talking was when they just mentioned a game, and possibly a logo or concept art, with nothing to show for it.

Each game had a "type" associated with it, including whether shooting was a main or primary mechanic. The graph show if a game's gameplay was primarily "about" shooting or about something else.

And finally, exclusivity of games to the platform.

I love this. Awesome find!

Go MS! :)

As far as MS and Sony go these charts are just par for the course really. Only differences would be less talking for both, and MS having so many exclusives. I never watch Ninty so can not comment on them.

Can someone repost the chart I have intellitroll ignored.
You've claiming for ages I'm on your ignore list. Are you sure about that? If you have someone on ignore, that person's entire thread is hidden from view. lol

So stop lying and trying to play cloak and dagger with the ignore feature. You see my posts loud and clear and I bet you have nobody on your ignore list. You already got busted a week ago with your bogus poll rating where you gave MS an F forgetting it's a public poll despite you stating you felt it was a B or C.

And besides, no need for namecalling.

Oh man, I love other games.

Other is my favourite.

Other than shooting.

Other.

OF course MS had more time showing games, they had to reshow the same 4 games they've reshowed at reshow shows about reshowing the same games from last generation.

reshow.

What did MS spend the other 33% of their time doing? The conference I watched only had games.

Hey welcome back. You were indeed on my ignore list but now with forum banning in place I've taken everyone off. I already stated my reason for giving an F on the poll but I'm not going to return to that. Feel free to look up my replies to the couple people that asked me about it.

Also, there is a view that still allows you to see ignored member's threads, which is how I entered the thread in the first place. You are correct that I couldn't see the thread from within the Multiplatform forum.
