I find the so called Monster Building in Hong Kong interesting as a housing concept. While many units are probably small, my understanding is it does have many amenities, park area, and its own stores.

It has been featured in some. Movies like Ghost in the Shell and Transformers.

YouTube algorithm at work? I had one of her videos recommended today at random and came to post it.
I’ve been following here for a while, but I got too many things to watch/play….but I guess I’ve been getting a lot of mars related stuff recently 😆

Been watching some of Not Just Bikes, it basically touches on urban planning, among other subjects, and is very critical of how the US has set-up many of it's cities. Many of them not catering like they should to pedestrians. Interesting watch.

Saw the Stroads thing a while ago. I think they have their place in a limited way, but some areas allow to many of them or have embraced lane expansion as the solution to traffic. That's starting to happen where I live now and glad I'm leaving.

Also, parts of the country like where I live now have embraced Cul De Sac neighborhoods and this kind of planning drives me nuts. I'm originally from the Midwest which mostly uses basic Grid Streets with maybe one major Stroad, but also often subdivision neighborhoods in a grid with several ways to access it. I've also found that Grid streets communities are much better for walking and biking.
