Companies And People being Terrible - Job Layoffs, Down Playing Employees

This information is plainly within the report. Nobody's going to experience a career full of sexual abuse, and then commit suicide because they stubbed their toe. Her treatment at blizzard was a contributing factor that led to her taking her own life. I'll say it, we don't have an explicit confession from any abusers and no police report unequivocally states it, but these dots are not at all hard to connect.

It would cost nothing to have the slightest degree of empathy, just anything near enough to "what these men did is bad" but you don't even manage that.
That this topic brings out the weird aloof sociopath in you, and others, is telling.

Many people experience sexual harassment, it's not right, but just because you have experienced that and later commit suicide doesn't mean you take your life because of that.
You seem to draw conclusions from nothing.

You also seem to hate gamers and this forum judging by your previous posts.... That's how I draw that conclusion by going by your impeccable way of doing it.

I think the wording is not convincing. I mean, to me, "sexual relationship" sounds like 2 consenting adults getting it on. Then for the picture passing it says allegedy, which isn't a fact and could just as easily be BS as it could be true.

Having said that, this company obviously has a problem. Been way too may come out talking about the sexual harassment at this company.

The state is suing them. Clearly there has been enough investigation and a substantial level of guilt established that their workplace culture is bad.

And I’m usually the “we need to hear all sides” guy too, because well, that’s a reasonable take. But in this instance, I think it has been established.

With the way Blizz has gone lately this doesn’t even surprise me.

boomer takes in here to no surprise.
swede particularly. darkpassenger, you should be better than that. starseeker continuing to never take a womans side in its signature word salad style.

some you people are so typically Gamer. this is the saddest boys club.
The problem is that sexual harrassment can be something as lame as an off-color joke not even directedat at the person . Guys joking with each other can be considered harrassment is someone just overhears. That's too far, imo. Obviously there are lines, and in a good work environment you have to find out where that is.

Some people are so oversensitive that they make working miserable. Then they complain that they aren't included. I've worked in those kinds of environments and they suck. Thankfully I don't have that issue now as we are all Veterans, so we share the same dark sense of humor. We also have an amazing working cohesion. These things are important.

Yes,I worked in an office with 32 women and 2 men (including me)... The things that came out of those innocent girls shocked even me.

All in good fun.

Decided by whom?

Again…this has been years of investigation, and now they are suing. The smoke is there. Sure, actual names and guilty persons will be decided in courts. Silly to think everything is just fine over at Blizzard, at this point, though.

Decided by your country's law? Lol wtf

I think you have a gross misunderstanding….

People don’t need a court to tell them when s*** smells bad. If you do then that’s your prerogative, but the tea leaves look pretty bad here. Do you really think the state (ie… THE GOVERNMENT) would spend years investigating and then bring a lawsuit if they didn’t have ample material?

If so, with all due respect, I’m not sure you know anything about “our government.” Lol. EDIT: This is not to mention the dozens of employees that have come out since this report, speaking of the rampant culture of abuse, as well as the 1000+ that have signed a petition telling Blizzard they will not be silenced on this.

But of course let’s wait for the courts to tell us what to think on this one. It is very possible nothing is wrong!

Burn it down. s*** company. As a huge Blizzard fan for decades now, this doesn’t shock me at all, shouldn’t shock anyone who has followed the company. They have made misstep after misstep for a long time now.

waste of time weird masculine role player

So anyway, wow blizzard is pretty bad. You'd need to be some kind of weird woman hating a****** to doubt the accusers. Good thing no one here is like that.

Please show me these facts.
All I know is a woman killed herself and some nude picture of her had been passed around. That is a terrible thing and it may have contributed to the mental state that caused her to take her life but it surely wasn't the only reason she did it. For someone to do that they have to be in a place where they feel like there is no way things will get better and I don't think an adult who's thinking rationally would come to that conclusion. The lawsuit doesn't even say that that was the cause of her suicide if I remember correctly it's just the conclusion people online are jumping to.

I worked in an office full of women for around 10 years 18 women and 3 men, they flirted and "harassed" the guys all the time and it was funny none of us freaked out, almost all of my bosses have been female. If you want to see harassment just work in an office full of women the day the fire department comes to check things out lol you need to steam clean the floors after that, even the ugliest nerdiest looking guy will get attention from women if he's in that uniform lol.

That being said it does sound like Blizzard was a scummy place to work and if people did have legit complaints that HR ignored they should have some way to get some type of compensation or at least the company should be punished. I won't blame that woman's suicide on the company based on what they've said so far I just don't think suicide works like that but I do think if what's being said is true the people who ran the show should be ashamed. It doesn't help though that a bunch of blue hairs (male and female) go online and start lecturing every man on twitter about how they have to be better etc though. Save those lectures for people that need them and stop making it sound like every man is some sex addicted pervert who can't wait to get ahold of anything with a vagina.

It's funny being on the other end of this for once. Often I find some of this stuff to be somewhat doubtful.

When there are literally dozens of accusations and thousands of employees signing petitions about it, yeah, pretty obvious something is wrong.

Clearly something significant happened. Some people like to joke around and all that in the work environment but the issue may be that people may have overstepped their boundaries without realizing here or even worse they know what they are doing but think they can get away with it because higher position in the company. Then they go back to it was a "joke" or a "prank". The problem is it's not a joke or prank to the person it happened to.

Wait, so taking full body scans of our female employees, ranking them and digitizing them into an internal game called World of Whorecraft to try to convince them to give up the booty was wrong?

Surprised none of you posted the news about the 1000 blizzard employee signed letter saying Activision/Blizzrd's response was BS.

So 1000 of them want their workplace to be a living hell going forward? Hopefully it was anonymous for their sake. Otherwise they are in for a rude awakening...

I think it's the other way? Didn't Activision/Blizzard pretty much just try to brush it off?

Crazy some of the stuff coming out about this. Company seems like a bunch of POS’s. Anything actually going to happen to them or just keep releasing games like normal?

Also I think Swede was mainly joking in here.

Yeah. But if 1000 employees signed this letter wouldn't the company know who these are?

It's basically going against the hand that feeds you.

Nah he’s serious.

2000+ petition.

but everything is fine. We will await the courts to tell us what to think.

They are, most of the higher ups in companies are.
And no, most people buying their games don't care.

And who knows, I might've joked, either way it went over the simps heads in here.
