Control’s Expansions Won’t Be PS4 Exclusive For Long, Developer Says
Thomas Puha says it won’t be a long wait.

....And on the console side, the game’s two expansions will be timed exclusive to the PS4 version of the game. For how long, we don’t know, but the company promises it won’t be too much of a wait.

Speaking with Wccftech, Remedy’s Communications Director Thomas Puha was asked about the timed exclusivity. While he said he could not disclose the actual time frame, he promised that Xbox One and PC users wouldn’t have to wait too long to play the expansions. He also seems to imply the decision was not up to the Remedy Entertainment as much as it was the game’s publisher, 505 Games.

“So there’s one exclusive mission in the digital deluxe PS4 version, and then the expansion pass is kind of tied to that. But outside of that, one costume, the side mission, and the digital themes, the game is the same on all platforms, and all the expansion pass will be available on all platforms, but I can’t say what the exclusivity window is, except it’s not very long. So, again, we’re consumers as well at Remedy and the core game is the same for everybody. Again, many publisher and business reasons for doing certain things.”

The funny thing is the closed-caption of the interview just says: "Dear Microsoft, we see you throwing money at Studios, please purchase us and let us make sequels to our old games, which should be ready by the time the XBox Ticonderoga launches in November 2026"

It is just QB with a female lead so be funny to see if people are suddenly fine with the gameplay...

I'm looking forward to it. Remedy have yet to disappoint me

Looks good but with all the games on my plate, I'm more than likely going to pass until next year.

I haven't been gaming at all lately, and had planned on picking this up during a holiday sale further down the line, but then I watched the IGN, Easy Allies, and Gamespot video reviews on YouTube this morning. They were all so overwhelmingly positive, I think I'll be buying it tonight. Gotta support Remedy, they make some of the most unique and interesting games.

Rating a little higher on Xbox at the moment at Metacritic. 83 vs 82. Sounds like the game should be fun. Would love to find out if there is an Alan Wake easter egg in the game, similar to the way QB had Alan Wake easter eggs.

Yeah I'm getting it to support too. Also, you know the story is going to be bonkers.

I can't believe this game flew under my radar until now. I guess I just haven't been paying enough attention because a new Remedy game should have perked my ears up to listen for any info on Control.

Have fun with this title fellow gamers and please post impressions. I'll have to wait a while since I had no idea this was coming out so soon. If I had known I wouldn't have purchased Anthem last Saturday (on sale but still). Please save the smartass remarks I know that wasn't the best gaming decision on my part.

Just about finished with the first mission. Totally a QB, AW and Remedy vibe game. Loving it so far. The gun play is total AW and QB. It feels good.

I forgot it was hitting this month. I'm home sick probably through tomorrow. I need some sort of time junction to see how much of my life I'll lose if I pick it up now.

This game was NOT on my radar at all after the debut at E3. I am glad I changed my mind.
