Not really. The issue with cloud computing isn't so much what it can bring but how viable and usable it is in the bigger picture. Up until now the much tooted feature has barely been used and only used in small ways, Forza driveatars--which have got worse over time, for example. Now this gen is coming to an end and MS finally does something with it.

Until this becomes widespread and doing big things it will remain a buzzword.

Plus that clip doesn't seem to show anyghing all that better than what BF5 is doing, and that does it all in game as far as i'm aware.

Yeah BF5 is awesome and I do like the destruction but it pales in comparison to this.

ResetEra guys seem surprisingly positive about the game so far.

One of the posters said this, and it’s exactly what I think, so I’m stealing it:

“I am pretty sure how Crackdown is gonna go. Its gonna review mixed. It depends on what the reviewer wants out of the game. If you want a new gen Crackdown 1 you get it. If you want a something else you wont like it. SP gets more love then the MP overall also. 70/75.

MP is gonna be a fun distraction. But wont have the longevity. Sure it has a skill gap but every game has. Not enough maps, modes and no clear progression system also for people to keep playing. Unless i missed that for MP?

Game overall will be played for abit of time and will have a decent fanbase where others will only complain about. Sales will be mediocre also resulting in "bomb and "flop" comments. Then we get player numbers from MS and people are surprised it hit "X million" players and it shows Gamepass in a strong light again.”

I just read somewhere that they’re not having any party system for MP?? Arghhh that’s annoying. I hope that changes in the future if true.

Read this. Pretty much spot on aside from I think the MP will prove to be much deeper than most think, and that'll keep people coming back for a good while. Without new maps and modes though, the MP wont last for long. I also think gamers will be very surprised at how satisfying the campaign will be. There's going to be a bunch of people who'll think reviewers were too harsh on Crackdown - especially the MP side - but that wont be heard.

Over all, GP will prove to be Crackdown 3 saving grace. I think when they announce the number of people playing the game, the gaming community will be shocked. Shocked I tell you!! The MP has undiscovered bones yet. There's a real Halo C.E. Lan party feel to it that I cant quite put my hands on - but its there. Just a really fresh experience from any other MP on the market.

A next gen Crackdown 1? Yes please! People are overhyping the game so they can tear it down. Same old hate cycle that most games seem to get lately.
This is the problem when people have been following a game for years. The expectations grow and grow into unrealistic territory.

If the game is fun, play it! If it isn't, then don't. Give me the fun from the original and I'm happy.

How deep can the MP be? Essentially you're just blowing s*** up.

On a personal note, I will eventually play this for the sp as I did like CD1.

Thats not all you're doing - not even. Did you get in on the test? If you havent, you should wait until you do. There's much more beneath the surface than just explosions. The destruction adds another layer to MP that hasnt been fully realized yet. The dodging and double/triple jumps makes maneuverability much more essential to survival. As I said before in an earlier post, campers can forget it in this game. If you're camping in a spot at the top of a tower, someone is coming for you vertically or they're going to bring the entire structure down to bring you to them.

If you have an enemy above you on the bridge, you can take out the entire bridge. Even the debris can be a killer or a life safer. Lets say someone has a lock on you from behind, you can literally burst through the wall to break line of sight, find an air spring and get vertical.

A lot of people complained about the lock-on mechanic but it doesnt guarantee you the kill if your enemy is dodging you. Every match draws you in closer because the whole game just starts to "click". I cant wait until the game is out in the wild because many gamers are going to figure out things no one else has thought of when it comes to adding destruction like this into a MP game.

Forgive my rant, but this game and the mode has crazy potential and changes things up for MP exponentially.

I can’t confirm this, but from what I’ve read it sounds like they might be supporting this game post-launch in a similar way to SoT.

If that’s the case I’d expect the MP to go deeper eventually.

You should expect this for all future games, it is all about driving those gamepass subs.

I know this sound crazy from a guy who loves multiplayer but I want crackdown to be like the first. I could care less about the multiplayer.

BTW I can’t confirm the ‘no party’ thing just yet. ReaetEra guys seem to think this might change after launch.
You can say that about any flaw or missing feature in any game made in the last decade. Simple fact is this feature should be there day one. It is a basic muliplayer feature.

reminds me of Bungie's asinine no matchmaking for raids in Destiny.
