Twitch stream going right now, with a tease of something coming later. It's all just a gobbledy gook data stream right now, but presumably they'll show something later. Some Italian journalist said it will be about something you really wanted to see in "first person" for a long time. Who knows.
Andy's racist get... it!!!

Okay, my 2 cents. I watched all 48 mins. It doesn't cure cancer or stop your mother-in-law from nagging at you forever like some journalists would make you to believe, but it's still pretty impressive.
Small touches like able to see your legs when you sit are nice. The open world is one of the best sci-fi yet. It's like Deus Ex, but loaded with 2 afterburners, driven by goblins & Ninjas dancing to beat of MC hammer. The animation on a lot of NPC seems custom (as opposed to animation cycles) for the events which are a lot of work. If they have this level for the entire game, it will be a new benchmark for AAA game in cinematic experience.

Combat wise, its one of the best, but not jaw-dropping like some journalists said. I hope they show some male characters in the next update also. The female in the demo looks pretty badass, & I maybe even consider playing as one. Hopefully, the male ones are as badass. I normally prefer to play as a male if there is romance option.

I'm honestly not blown away by anything, it looks very, very good but I don't think we're above and beyond what I would expect from CD project working on a new game for 4 years. They're just fvcking incredible devs honestly.

This is begging for VR support though. The setting is just right. Maybe PS5.

Incredible! CD Projekt set the benchmark for medieval RPGs with Witcher 3. Now they are about to set the benchmark for sci-fi RPGs with Cyberpunk.

I was already sold. After watching the gameplay video I'm especially sold. Felt like Deus Ex and Ghost in the Shell had a baby. Can. Not. Wait. My hype level is through the roof now.

If they can pull off half the stuff that was shown in the demo along with their storytelling, they may have another GOTY candidate on their hands.

I just watched 15 minutes of gameplay.

It's definitely impressive but it's probably not for me. I can't stand the "Walk 15 seconds, watch 15 second NPC animation, walk 15 more seconds, rinse and repeat. I much prefer the Kojima style where you're immersed in gameplay for an extended period of time, and then treated to a high quality 10 minute cutscene. Dialogue seems to be bugging me as well. Everyone sounds kind of douchey, like a corny 80s action movie. Maybe that's something you forget about after playing it for a bit, but it's jarring for me right now.

I could still see myself getting it but it's not particularly high on my radar after that.

Blown away by this. Can't wait to see final version of the UI and I can't stand the font used as it's difficult to read and I have 20/20 vision.

Has made me wanna to play Deus Ex again and I will. Great 'vertical slice' demo. Need to see it in 4K now...

BlimBlim from Gamersyde said if he does a 4k video of this,it would be close to 15 GB lol...

Watched a sampling of that video, not the whole thing. I was impressed by the visuals, the scale, and the level of detail. Shooting looks good enough. Nice destruction. Lots of modification options. I'm not big into cyberpunk and didn't like Deus Ex, but I'll play along, because this looks considerably more ambitious and creative. I assume there will be a little humor in there, to lighten the mood occasionally, and not just constant tough talk, blood and bullets, etc. Can't judge characters or story at this point. Overall, I liked what I saw.

I notice the video has 10x as many downvotes as upvotes. I'm guessing it's the offended SJWs, downvoting it. 3 million views already, though. Impressive.

Actually, the game does gets better after the initial mission, which I think is quite underwhelming. The skins seems a little shiny. Not sure if its intended.

But I get you, its good, but its not "Need to change a pair of pants after watching" or "In-Laws calling in saying they are not coming over this weekend" good.

In the end, at least with the gameplay footage, everyone can aligned their own hype, instead of of relying on Game Journalists & Youtubers that acted like teenage fangirls when they saw Justin Bieber.

I noticed that too. Alot of people just were not feeling it for various reasons ( perceived Over-hyped, perceived graphics downgrades, not interesting , 1st person, etc.) I thoroughly enjoyed what they showed but I understand why CDPR was hesitant to show it off given the comment sections of different sites.

Well he isn't accurate though. The 48 minute video currently 192k likes and only 2.5k dislikes

Pretty sure that's the backlash over the "transphobic" tweet. No way that trailer deserves 10 times more thumbs down than thumbs up. You've got to suspect an agenda, when you see a ratio that skewed to the negative, with an otherwise high quality trailer.

I do think a lot of people went in with inflated expectations, based on how over-the-top the press were in their praise of the E3 demo. People expected something utterly mind-blowing, and then they were disappointed that their heads didn't explode.

Asshats mad because the game is in 3rd person and you can't see your character's ass.

For Christ sake go outside and complain about the weather instead.

Cyberpunk 2077 — CD Projekt “Very Aware” that Many Don’t Like First-Person Perspective

While Cyberpunk 2077 looks absolutely gorgeous, many appear to struggle to warm up to the game due to its first-person perspective. At Gamescom 2018 DualShockers had a chat with Quest Designer Patrick Mills, and we asked what kind of feedback the developer received, and if they’re planning to remain firm in the choice.

Mills confirmed that the perspective won’t change, but the studio is very aware of the fact that the first-person perspective is facing some resistance.

“We are firm in that decision. However, we’re very aware that a lot of people don’t like first-person, and there is a small number of people who can’t play first-person for a variety of reasons.”

That being said, he mentioned that the team is looking into offering difficulty options and sensibility options to hopefully manage to turn Cyberpunk 2077 in the first first-person game that some people will like, or that some will be able to play.

While they’re sticking with their choice, they want the game to be enjoyable for as many people as possible.

Corridor shooting looks okay, outside area gameplay looks insane.
Having the feeling that this won't feel as graphically impressive by the time it gets released. Remember seeing assassins creed 1 for the first time and couldn't understand how that was possible. Game gets released a couple of years later and it looked much less impressive. Not talking downgrades here, just that time and other games will catch up by release.

Not sure why people are fussing about first person perspective. It's not like this is something new and untried. A lot of RPGs are first person. I agree with them. It does make it more immersive.

Some people get dizzy when they play in First person mode. Also, everyone has their preferences.

The bottom line is, CDProjekt made their choice, & focused on an immersive 1st person experience it rather than try to cater to both (like fallout 4), which I can understand, which run the issue some gamers will be turned off.

You can't make games that fit everyone.

Haha, same here! When they showed gameplay for AC1 I was like yeah right lol. Amazing technical achievement for it’s time.

Cyberpunk is not on that level, it’s a step below Last of Us 2 in the “looks so good it’s probably fake” category.

It doesn't feel more immersive to me it just makes the field of view more limited. Immersion should mean it feels like it's really you in the game but going first person doesn't really accomplish that . If it were first person in VR obviously that would have a much more dramatic effect but when playing on a television screen it does nothing to make me feel like I'm anymore a part of the world than 3rd person. Elder Scrolls games offer both first and 3rd person options (of course they don't do either one particularly well) so if CDPR wanted to they could offer a 3rd person option but it's their choice, I'd rather they let us play in 3rd person but that doesn't mean I think the game is awful for going first person either.

Hm. It's opposite for me. When I see a character in third person, it reminds me that I'm playing a game as that character on the screen over there (who is not me). It becomes about me watching that character over there have a guided adventure. First person view (which is what I grew up with, both for shooters and RPGs) makes it feel more like I'm the shoes of the character, looking out from his perspective -- rather than watching the action of a character who is not me. So I find it more immersive.

This is why I find Elder Scrolls games more immersive than Witcher 3, for instance, even though the quests and stories aren't in the same league. With Witcher 3, I'm watching this guy Geralt have an adventure. With ES, I am the character, having my own adventure.

It would be great if this game were in VR -- that would be the ultimate in immersion. But of course the tech isn't there.

I've never been a huge FPS guy, I've always liked 3rd person better. Of course there are plenty of FPS games that I have enjoyed over the years but given the choice I'd go with 3rd person every time. I just find first person so limiting, they don't even let you have as wide of a view as you would in real life and of course the camera is always set as if we were all about 4 feet tall lol. Plus as I said being that I see so much besides the TV that immersion effect is always lost on me, I see the walls, my entertainment center etc so there is always a lot more in my field of view than just the TV screen. Plus every time the character speaks I'm reminded it's not me etc.

Yeah, the field of view can be more limited, I agree with that. I think some people like to look at their armor, too. For me, the immersion of first person outweighs that. The walls & surroundings aren't really a factor for me; I pretty much tune those out when I'm playing; I'm just focused on the screen (unless something distracts me). I feel more like I'm "there" with first person, less like a spectator. But to each his own.

p.s. I mean, it's even reflected in the pronouns. First person is "I," me. Third person is "he" or "she"* -- that guy/gal over there.

*or zhe or thon or xyrs ...

CD Projekt isn't Ubi. You disgust me. (I kid I kid) ;-)

CD Projekt Red has released the full gameplay demo for Cyberpunk 2077. Shorty after their reveal at E3, the developers revealed the technical specifications for the PC that was used to run the impressive gameplay demo.

The machine is, in the most technical of terms, a beast:
