Glad I played on PC.

Yea but fundamental things like bad AI, bad traffic AI and police as well as the shallow life paths and choices that don't really mean much are across the board, hope they take their time with the DLC and create something awesome as the potential is definitely there.

That roadmap looks like it is going to take a long time to fix.

I don't know how this was supposed to make anyone feel better, the guy is clearly lying. How did they not know the console versions were that bad? all they had to do was freaking play it, it's not like the people who bought it have access to some game breaking hardware and hooked the game up through that. He also never acknowledges that they wouldn't let reviewers use their own gameplay footage for reviews, he totally glosses over that which was proof of them trying to hide something to begin with. He just needs to come out and admit that they wanted the money and that they screwed over the customers and all of their dev team members to get the game out before the holidays. There are foolish people who believe they released it like this because they were getting death threats, why would anyone believe that? I believe some cooks may have made threats but does anyone believe that's why the game was released before it was ready?

The guy is lying out his ass. Me thinks he's trying to get ahead of the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection in Poland and all the lawsuits from investors coming their way. They gave a statement to investors almost immediately after release. Consumers? We'll get around to it.

Plus the statement itself is a lot of vague promises, with a bunch of excuses that continues to shift the blame rather than taking ownership of the issues.

Looks like Fall 2021 for the next gen update. Might as well have released the game then jeez. Don't even know if I'll be interested in it at that point. It better have fixed most of the issues and look amazing on the PS5.

I think their roadmap visual may be misleading. In the video they mention the first patch was coming extremely soon, but the visual makes it look a ways off still. They still have so much work to do though, the next gen patch could definitely still be quite a ways out.

This is probably as much as he can commit without risking even more serious lawsuits.
Looks like covid really f***ed up their dev process.

They did give statement to customers regarding repurchases though... Not much more to do at that point in time.
Customers got their money back, CDPR doesn't own them anything else, just save your money until you feel comfortable paying for it again.
What I do feel is strange is he keep saying that the PC version is ace and only the console versions are problematic... It's a bug fest wherever you play lol
Remember AC unity having to give out free DLC after people complaining about it being buggy, never experienced a single bug in that game during my playthrough. Times are changing I guess.

Covid didn't do it they were never going to be ready on time, if a game has been in development for that many years and can't release in a decent state that's on him, they could have delayed it. The game should have been in the bug fixing and polishing phase by the time covid struck, don't forget when they announced the game went gold the devs actually working on the title were taken by surprise.

Sounds like a lot of the core functions are half baked, it really looks like this game was just rushed and then shoved out the door. I feel bad for the actual devs who worked their asses off trying to make something great only to see management shove it out before it was ready just so they could hit the holiday release date.

I swear I didn't just watch this because I have a bit of a crush on Alex lol.

First patch comes this month. The second in February. Using that as a guide, the next gen patch will be September/October.

Picked this up today on XSS. Figured instead of waiting might aswell play now and then play again when the nrxt gen update hits seeing as it is seemingly a long ways off.

It's a great game already, even if it's not as crazy as we were led to believe. I've had an absolute blast.

I just can’t get into this because the frame rate or something just feels so janky..
I tried it in performance mode too. But idk. It just doesn’t feel very good to play.

I mean at this point....playing it on anything less than the XSX/S and PS5 is going to make you not like the game. If I didn't have a PC I'd get it on one of those. It wouldn't even be a question.

BTW.....this quest was absolutely nuts!

Yay, it seems you can level up the engineering skill by shooting enemies through walls with tech weapons. I was a little worried about leveling up the engineering skill because I initially thought it could only be leveled through the use of grenades. Now I don't have to worry about replacing grenades with the missile launcher arm which I like better than grenades because I feel like I have more control.

Yeah that quest was messed up

Interesting tidbits from the article:

  1. full development didn’t start until late 2016 and Studio head Adam Badowski took over as director, demanding overhauls to Cyberpunk’s gameplay and story
  2. The slice of gameplay was showcased at E3, the industry’s main trade event, in 2018 almost entirely fake. CD Projekt hadn’t yet finalized and coded the underlying gameplay systems, which is why so many features, such as car ambushes, were missing from the final product
  3. When CD Projekt announced that the game would come out on April 16, 2020, the internal developers thought it was a joke. So much so, Developers created memes about the game getting delayed, making bets on when it would happen. Based on the team’s progress, they expected the game to be ready in 2022

So they released it too early based on what the developers are saying.

A couple more interesting bits.

The law enforcement system was tacked on at the last minute. (Shocking!! Lol)

Even crazier is that they were forced to develop the game while the engine was still being developed. Now I'm not a video game developer, but i can't imagine that's too common. I was confused as to how a game with the largest budget in history lacked basic features and functionality that have been around since before they announced the game.

I guess this information could be false, but it just makes too much sense.

It does feel bare at times, like there's supposed to be more to the world in regards to activities etc.
Still, this game prob my favorite game along with Valhalla this past 12 months (and of course Animal Crossing).
