Dangerous Driving is the spiritual successor to Burnout, by the guys who made Burnout.

This is a game built in the spirit of the classic arcade racing games of the 80’s and 90’ from teams like Sega’s AM2, Namco and Taito. It’s about speed, driving skill and beautiful powerslides around epic corners. It’s also about all out aggression, instant retaliation and sweet, sweet revenge.

The more dangerously you drive, the faster you can go.

Dangerous Driving features 9 different game modes which take place in 7 North American National Park inspired locations including Canyons, Deserts, snowy Mountains, Lakes and more.

There are 27 vehicles in the game, spread across six car classes – Sedan, SUV, Coupe, Supercar, Hypercar and Formula DD.

We need more arcade racers.

It's only $30, btw, which is good pricing.

Yeah bought the last game at full price but I’m gonna get this one on sale, haven’t really been a fan of the pricing for the amount of content. Also the developer kinda rubbed me the wrong way on a stream for their last game, seemed defensive

Dangerous Golf? Yeah, that got some criticism. Hopefully this game is a little more fleshed out. For $30, I don't expect a whole lot of content.

Loved Dangerous Golf, especially since I got it post patch when all the issues were fixed. I was referencing Danger Zone 2, which is an incredibly barebones game for 20 bucks.

Ah. Never even heard of that one.

Saw screenshots of this the other day and got excited. Watched the video a few minutes later and lost all interest.
I loved the arcade racers Sega made, but dislike the Burnout series immensely.

The only Burnout I remember playing was one where you tried to create the biggest wrecks possible in a single set piece. Not sure if that was just a specific mode included in a game like this. Not the same devs, but I really enjoyed Split/Second.

Digital Foundry analysis summary:

- Base consoles runs at 30 fps
- PRO and X runs at 60 fps
- PRO runs at 1920x1080 while X runs at 1440p
- Base PS4 and Xbox One S runs at 1920x1080
- PRO get the most stable 60
- X get some dips here and there
- No soundtrack
- Temporal AA, very clean looking on PRO/X
- Bad framerate issue, inconsistent frame pace on base consoles
- Most notable on Xbox One S

I ordered it because I loved the burnout games, but haven't played. It came with danger zone 2 and I've been playing that. Seeing as how I didn't even know I was getting the danger zone game it's really enjoyable. It lacks the polish and depth of content that a big studio would produce, but totally worth playing. The levels are challenging and fun to figure out. It nice to have a simple arcade racer to play. Reminds me of trials. Simple concept but can pull you in.

Playing I can't help but wish Playground studios/Forza would pick them up to do an expansion pack to their Horizon series. The feel and design they have nailed, but with Forza graphics would be awesome.

Seeing as I haven't played the core game yet hard to recommend, but the danger zone 2 is totally worth picking up for a weekend of play if you find it at a good price.

For Burnout fans, Xbox has the remastered Burnout Paradise for like $6 on sale or something. The remaster got panned because it was priced at a really high $40, but at a couple of bucks it is still a fun game.

I beat the crash mode and moved on to the core game and it's really fun EXCEPT: it forces you to do events you don't like the one on one races as the races you want are locked until you earn medals. These races can be annoying as the ai takes off with an automatic lead and the whole gist of the game is to run full boost as much as possible. However one wreck ruins your chances and you might as well start over. It's not a lot of fun. A lot of good killed by bad design choices.
