This may be consolation for those of you disappointed by X1 and PS4 release game review scores. Hey, maybe Killzone and Ryse didn't quite live up to the hype. It could be worse. In fact, it was worse just last week when this game released, and no one noticed.

Anyone remember Deadfall Adventures, that Uncharted me-too that, even at a reduced price, was not looking very promising? Well, it finally released last week, and reviews have started rolling in. Guess what? It's not doing too well.

Here is a summary from the GI review (they gave it 40):

  • Concept: Fail miserably in an attempt to capture the fun of Uncharted and Tomb Raider in a first-person shooter
  • Graphics: Blurry textures and an unstable frame rate mar what little beauty Deadfall's environments contain
  • Sound: The voice acting of the main protagonist is terrible. The soundtrack apes that of Uncharted, and is the game's only redeeming quality
  • Playability: The controls are imprecise and glitchy. Even when running smoothly, the gunplay isn't much fun
  • Entertainment: Not even fans of the ancient Allan Quatermain stories (on which the game is based) could enjoy this adventure

Oh well. I was hoping this would come out passable, or at least "so bad it's good," but it appears to be just bad. Metacritic average is 40 at this point.

Guess I might try it for under $20, if I run out of anything else to play.

I checked. I guess it's just Xbox 360 and PC. I didn't realize they were sparing the PS3.

It's not coming to next-gen, afaik. From what I can tell, it's barely coming to this gen.

It's retail. I think it's going for $50.

Here's some combat. You'll notice some similarities to Alan Wake.
