Death Stranding (Nov. 8)

I don't think Sony ever does these deals without owning the IP

Interesting, but weird that they would not themselves publish it on PC.

I may be crazy but I’m getting vibes like when no man’s sky was in development and published by them.

Time will tell...

No Star Wars for you?

I don't even know what it is, and it would be a definite no having anything to do with Star Wars. After seeing the reviews for this game, it confirmed my worries of what the game looked like it was going to be...something I wouldn't play more than a few hours just for looking at the scenery.

Many of the scores don't really reflect the words of the review but the game should be praised for being different especially at a time where the industry has no innovation

True. Seems like it will be very polarizing, but I applaud any dev for taking a chance and being creative.

This is one I found interesting that gave it a 95/100:

Death Stranding is not a “fun” game, but it’s an important and meaningful experience that earns its payoff through every bit of frustration and slog. It’s a look at life and death, connection and solitude; a game about building up what matters most and supporting each other selflessly. You’ll be bored at times and downright frustrated at others.

Sounds like a 95/100 :meh:

Why isn’t my game preloaded yet :(. It says there is a countdown.

While I appreciate Danny's take on this. It's hard to tell someone to spend 80+ hours and $60 to possible play and not enjoy many parts of the game.

I'll continue to watch from the sideline and maybe when it's on PC, I may consider it. I'll probably be more likely to experiment with it once it's a Steam sale. This could be a gem of a game, but first impressions from everyone are to scattered and from what I saw; it's not very engaging.

This doesn't look like my thing.

I watched this last night. I am glad I did. NOT my thing either. I have elected to cancel my pre-order. Not a chance will I have time for that or the desire.

I think I'm skipping this one, at least until I hear a lot more impressions. I got bored by Red Dead 2, so I think this will definitely turn me off. I get that some people really get into those kinds of games, but I know the chances of me even getting close to finishing it are nearly zero.

Same, at least for now. Considering the divided impressions, I’m betting it’ll be on sale by the end of the year. I rarely buy games on Day 1 now anyways, because unless it’s a monster like RDR 2, it’ll usually be on sale within a couple months of release.

I canceled my pre-order, but I would buy the game for $19.99 when it's been out for awhile.

A game like this it seems like the question is it worth the time more so than is it worth the money
That is a good point. I figure for $20 or less, if I spend an hour or two with it and don't like it, delete.

Well, that was about the last thing I was expecting it to be. Amazon prime/walking simulator? Very strange indeed. (The baby is super cute though)
