Death Stranding (Nov. 8)

Alright I got to the end of chapter two...

The fight against the Catcher was awesome. I've enjoyed the light horror elements of encountering the regular BTs, like when BB's scan goes orange and the damn things aren't showing up yet. But the entire Catcher sequence was amazing and is some real eldritch horror like stuff. Probably will be more of them but wish I could just go back and fight this one again. Ended up with only an A rating I think due to damage. I fell a few stories off a building so I think that is where most of it came from lol.

Just started the game last night.
on my way to cremate the president
. I like it a lot so far. Great graphics and attention to detail. The atmosphere and the soundtrack is totally awesome IMO. It’s a pretty f***ed up game so far but for some reason I dig it.

Playing on the PS5. I am obviously very early in the game but looking forward to more.

So should I be drinking all the monster drinks sitting on the table in my room? Or should I spread them out?

You should drink them, they will boost your stamina capacity. They respawn once you leave/reenter any facility.

Also, after doing missions back to back you'll notice your stamina will not fully recover even after a drink or a rest out in the field. Its because Sam is exhausted and you'll need a little nap in your room at any facility to bring back stamina to its max capacity. And don't forget to shower/poop, they provide weapons to be used against the BTs.

You're in for one wild adventure. Now get going and deliver those PS5s.

I never bothered with the pee pee poo poo weapons after you get real anti-BT weapons. I seemed to have enough other items at that point.

ESRB rating for Director's cut shows only for PS5 atm.

The Director's Cut looks pretty cool. I wonder how much it pained Kojima to put in more guns and action. Regardless, I really liked the original and I'm curious to see if there's some sort of path to purchase for those who already own the PS4 version.

I'd have to do some digging but I saw mention of a $10 upgrade. Big if true because I paid like $20 for the game so no worries paying $10. Was a hell of an experience and one I'd play through again.

Yup, $10 fee to upgrade our digital copy. I hope we can load our save to use with the new content. After completing the main game I unlocked the OP weapons but by that time there wasn't much to do with them.

I still have yet to play this. Debating how to get the Director's Cut on the PS5...

Kojima recently clarified and said "Director's Cut" is not a term he likes and that its something Sony went with. He said nothing was cut from the original release and that his team created new content specifically for the re-release. I guess even he doesn't have full control over all things related to his game. He doesn't seem bothered by it but wanted to clear things up. I'm looking forward to seeing what they added. For those who have yet to play the game I hope the new content is woven into the main game for one seamless experience.

Sounds like when it arrives we’re gonna get a “last off us part two directors cut”

Will it finally look next gen or just polished N64 graphics?

Looks terrible lol

You're terrible for thinking that lol

The game looks in some ways better than the CGI film in 2016. Obviously not in all aspects since the hardware is not there yet but it's easily the most next gen looking game out right now.

NXGamer has the same sentiments in his breakdown of the tech though he compared it to the CGI film in 2005.
