Death Stranding (Nov. 8)

What did I "try" "buddy"? I said the cut scenes look good. Where was I wrong?

Were you not trying to imply it only looked good in cutscenes?

The cutscene and in gameplay assets are the same, so it looks just as good during gameplay.

Game play looks decent for sure. Cutscenes looked better IMO. I have seen that be the case with other games that "use the same assets" for both game play and cutscene.

Probably because in cutscenes the camera angle is closer and the depth of field also adds some beautiful bokeh in the background so you can see the actual details better that you couldn't from further away during gameplay.

I'm kind of surprised by the complaints left in the comments sections of articles I've read about the update for this game. The majority of complaints I've read are how the new additional equipment seems to make the deliveries much easier than what is offered in the base game. I think some of those gamers miss the point, I think these new additions are meant to add more fun to the experience.

Some gamers might like the game more if they have an easier time at completing the more challenging deliveries. To be honest the game is not hard at all it just requires patience. And I'm looking forward to checking out the new toys and missions. And if you think the new stuff makes things too easy then ignore them and use only what's available in the base game.

Quick Summary:
- Default is PERFORMANCE MODE, Locked 60fps 1800p
- QUALITY MODE is full 4k, variable 60fps, drops to mid-40's during heavy action
- ULTRA-WIDE Mode is 3840x1642p, mainly locked 60fps with just very minor hard to find dips (intense mirror scene)
- Low Anisotropic Filtering on all modes
- LODs are pushed further out on all modes
- Minor map changes
- Games supports Keyboard & Mouse (Can even combine Mouse and Controller)
- Dualsense features are "some of the best" on the console that really add to the gameplay
- Loading Times are crazy fast (1:30 on PS4 down to 3 SECONDS on PS5!)
- Save Transfer is terrible, can not transfer save if you have ANY tasks at all active in the game

Got my call from GameStop to pick up tomorrow.

Another Director's cut done right.

Make sure to go into the original game and, from the in-game menu, export your save because the PS5 continues to be a bunch of nonsense.

I was thinking I wouldn't bother with this, as I could never really decide if I actually even liked the game or not, but I think if it's only 5 bucks to upgrade from ps4 to ps5 DC, I might do it...

I'm downloading the PS5 version now and I also downloaded my save file from the Cloud and hope that's all I need to do. It'll suck if I have to download the PS4 version just to transfer my save file. I guess I'll find out later.

Shame I just played through it at the beginning of year. Definitely something I want to play through again though.

According to MP1st, the in-game menu that PS5 players have become accustomed to performing inter-generation save transfers within games like Final Fantasy VII Remake and Ghost of Tsushima is only accessible to Death Stranding players after they boot up their PS4 game and go the extra mile of trekking to a delivery terminal.

WTF, so we have to download the PS4 version and complete a mission before we can transfer the save to PS5. Kojima is trolling us hard. But the real blame for this mess is Sony with them not having a standardized process for cross-gen save transfer.

Thanks for the heads up. At least now I can set the PS4 version to download instead of finding out later I couldn't play until I jumped through more hoops.

Save? Save??? SAAAVE??!!!1

I should have known that for the price of the Director's Cut upgrade it would be light on content but I didn't think it would be this short. I loaded my save file which was at the conclusion of the main game. So, I started the new missions and there are only 3. There's some new equipment but nothing special. There's also the Firing Range which is similar to Metal Gear VR missions but they are super short.

If you haven't played the game before or plan on restarting all over again this is a good buy. But for those who finished everything this new upgrade doesn't offer much. Still, this is a great

I just finished Tales of Arise. Thinking of starting either this or Lost Judgment. How long did it take you guys to beat this game?
