I saw that there wasn't an official thread to post the news about the game being delayed, so I figured I would start it now. Microsoft has delayed the game until September 14th:

Game is coming to PS5 (1 year timed console exclusive) and Microsoft Windows PC. Xbox to follow at a later date. Game is now owned by Microsoft.

Deathloop is a game about a man stuck in a repeating 24-hour time loop. You play as Colt Vahn, a man trapped on the desolate island of Blackreef who is being hunted by an insane “cult” of mask-wearing lunatics. However, Colt is one of the only people who seems aware of the fact that he is reliving the same day over and over again, and if Colt wants to break this loop he’ll need to orchestrate the assassination of eight extremely powerful individuals.

They need to stop doing these if they aren't going to be in 4K, it sucks to have to watch a 1080p version first and then get the 4K trailer right after this is over, just do it that way from the start.

Didn’t Xbox do that too?

but totes, they should least give ya the option. I’m surprised I didn’t get notifications for other languages like all the previous ones. Felt like it was just put together to give reason (and piggyback other games) to showcase A Rift Apart

Yeah it must be like a "live stream" kind of limitation but what's the point of doing a live stream of a bunch of pre-recorded stuff? just announce the demonstration and then put out the 4K video.

Was it really a live stream?

I don’t think we’ll see an actual live stream for a good while, maybe e3 2023???

It takes a huge amount of bandwidth and processing power to live stream in 4k and in the same sense, the people watching the stream also has to have access to the same to watch the stream. This is the reason why livestreamers still only use 1080p/60 max for their audience because this can maximize the number of people watching.

At least that is my understanding.

Yes you are correct, in fact this was mentioned by MS or Sony or some top company last year for these shows. They will make all the high quality stuff available to everyone after the show because we still have streaming limitations.

Oh I know, my point is that it doesn't need to be live streamed because it's not played live they are recorded videos so just put them up like a trailer in 4K instead of live streaming it. A live press event obviously live stream that but pre recorded video? what's the point?

Deathloop is one of the timed PS5 console exclusives that is out later this year. The file size of the game has been revealed ahead of its release.

Deathloop was initially set to launch in August but the game was slightly pushed ahead to September. It is now set to release on September 14, 2021. The game will offer some PS5 exclusive features like ray-tracing, haptic feedback, and adaptive triggers.

The file size of the game was confirmed through a recent listing on the PlayStation servers where the game was revealed to be 16.1 GB. This file size is actually quite a lot smaller than other PS5 exclusives that have released recently including Returnal and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart.

Not sure what to think of this game yet. I enjoyed Dishonored 1 but never felt the urge to play 2. We'll see.

Only 16.1gb huh? That's pretty small in this day and age.

Will play this on gamepass. I can't see myself investing a lot of hours in this game.

Didn't expect much and that's about what I got lol at least we shouldn't have to see deathloop again. I loved the personality of the first trailer, the music, the way the characters were dancing and the voice over all went well together but the game itself never really appealed to me too much and as time has gone on it's only gotten worse. I don't know why Sony paid for this other than they just wanted to pad the launch line up, it was supposed to come out a long time ago. GhostWire Tokyo looks even worse, it looks like a VR game without VR support lol.

I mean, it looks cool. Nobody here liked Dishonored or what?

Nothing else of note however.
