Only 6 years too late, but finally putting an LFG in game.
I keep wanting to get back into this especially during this summer drought. Then I remember there's no matchmaking for some of the more rewarding activities and I get a little sad since I'm a solo gamer.
I remember sitting on one of those LFG sites hoping to get picked up for a Raid only to be kicked because they didn't like my loadout or I didn't have something specific to make things easier or because I didn't have experience with certain mechanics which was because I haven't experienced them yet. In the past the D2 community could be brutal towards the more novice player-base.

Try the official Bungie mobile app. It works great, especially for the smaller 3 man stuff. I have no idea why they just didn't put that into the game itself.
People can be pretty toxic, and honestly, most of them are trash at the game and looking for good people to carry them. The people playing Dungeons seem to be the worst. I got screamed at for not equipping Gally when the loadout I had was actually just as good of DPS (probably better).
Otherwise, I always look for the magic word "chill". Those are usually the people who are the most fun to play with and aren't going to go all toxic.
LFG is great.
For example... I held off on the WQ Raid until this past Monday and I made a post saying that I never did it need help.
It winded up being another guy who never did it joining with 4 who had done it teaching us and yes we got it done.

The weapon crafting is pretty nice as you can make your own god rolls and get enhanced versions of the perks as you level them up.
If you haven't been on in awhile you probably will be overwhelmed as there is so much to do(best thing about it imo)
So, apparently they are getting rid of all the planetary materials next season (all those random ones you get from the planets like data lattuce or whatever). However, rumor has it that there's going to be a community event involving them, so hold off spending them all.

I have no doubt I'll be overwhelmed with all the changes and additions that have taken place over the years. I'm searching youtube for anything that can help me as a returning player.
I used google translate for the message you posted about a new event. I wonder what Mech those Mech inspired armors are supposed to represent. Ultrman doesn't seem to fit. Gundam seems likely but is a Gundam a Gundam without the signature V-Wing on the helmet, I don't know but it looks cool to me.

I remember booting up the game to check out the smoothness of 60fps. I've since purchased a TV capable of 120fps. I'm not sure if D2 supports that framerate on console but I'll find out soon enough. I remember checking that high framerate for the racing game Dirt and I found it removed too many graphical enhancements to be worth it. But I do understand that there has to be some kind of tradeoff especially on consoles.

I'm reading very good things about the Witch Queen campaign. Like super high praise from some of the youtubers I follow who play regularly. This is getting me excited to jump back in.
