At a very quick glance, Neomuna feels very... empty and bland? Plus the trailers and vi-doc pretty much gave away the major plot points (at least so far).

Granted still early on. Maybe I'm just stuck in Destiny burnout, but I feel like "I'm doing this again?".

The community is having a meltdown over this. I'm still only halfway through it but it just feels... lacking?

Granted the Destiny community loses their minds over any little thing, but this seems to be more consistent. I guess the story really falls flat. Even the usually positive people are hitting it hard.

If you are playing, be sure to go to the helm and the war table. It opens up the seasonal stuff that I should have been getting all along, but it doesn't start until you actually go there and read a message and pick up a quest.

A buddy of mine is already done with it. He said he’s gonna just wait and hope the next one is better. I’m still gonna play it tonight.

The gameplay is still there. The new bosses are neat (difficult without just being massive bullet sponges).

The annoying thing with the campaign is that the level goes up quite a bit for each mission. You're better off farming drops doing something else to make sure your level matches the mission, otherwise they can be silly hard. I was running into enemies with the red ??? above their heads which means I can't even damage them. Once you level up, regular is easy.

I beat the campaign on Legendary yesterday and let me tell you the missions were not fun, Im not looking forward to having to run it 2 more times to unlock strand for my other characters. Witch Queen was way better for the campaign missions and the story.

They also got really lazy with content, this is the "big" DLC but only added 1 new strike and 1 crucible map. Gambit gets nothing, the crucible, vanguard and gambit vendors did not get a refresh of new gear like they claimed they would.

I can keep going but if you guys check the destiny subreddit you'll see all the bad in the front page.

I should finish it this weekend. The story/characters are not great so far. To be fair, I think the gameplay is ok. Granted I play on regular difficulty (there's still some bogus difficulty spikes even there, I can only imagine legend being a slog). The problem is there's too many tanky red bar enemies who do the old "spawn right behind you" thing. I put more than half of my ammo from the new exotic auto into a red bar (the lowest enemy in the game) and I'm not under-leveled and only on regular. That's not difficulty, that's BS.

I think there's just some understandable burnout on this series. At this point I've almost certainly put more hours into this game than any other series (granted this is 2 games).

Agreed and I quit like a couple years ago already.

Gameplay was good. Story was... not. People are definitely over-reacting. Like this is the first time we've gone through Destiny without meaningful story.

I didn't get to it this weekend. I ended up doing other stuff. Right it has 2/10 user ratings on Metacritic.

I went to go buy this. Then saw it was $50 for it? DLC? Really? f*** that.

Yeah honestly unless you're deeply invested in the game, you can skip this. The gameplay is ok, but the story is dumb. You're not missing anything if you aren't deep into it by now. I feel obligated to finish it out just because I've played from day 1, but am already having regrets buying this.

They decided to ramp up the difficulty on all activities too, making everything just more of a slog and less fun.

I was big into WQ. Put probably 70 hours into it and the first couple seasons. I was tempted to come back for this but holy s***, the buzz is very negative. I guess I’ll hold off.

Yeah this week they dropped some new exotic mission. Cool, right? I jump in. There's no level requirement and no matchmaking. I jump in, and red bar enemies are 2 shotting me, and they infinitely spawn. It takes 5 scout rifle shots to kill them. I mean, wtf. Turns out I need to level up more and find a fireteam. An hour wasted. I get about halfway through before it cranks up.

Everything is like that now, just the normal difficulty stuff. They had legendary mode which is fine. I just want normal. Of course too I need a build, and don't even have the new subclass fully unlocked yet. Even just the new playable area is cranked up to 11 as far as difficulty. I just die going from one side of the map to another. It is really frustrating, and D2 has never been like this for everything. The hard content was always there for those that chose it.

it is just really frustrating.
