I guess, but I guess most people assume that MMO's carry legacy items, or don't even have sequels to an extent.
The Eve guys had some great comments about not doing a sequel.
But I guess they're not entirely comparable. RPG's and strategic games generally chuck a heap more stuff into their expansions, and the content generally lasts longer/or is more unattainable.
Your ignorance don't understand how this type of game works.
Everybody knew the game was basically unfinished at launch..this was common knowledge plus this is a type of game where years worth of content is added through its life.
Year 2 step in the life of the game was farther along/more polished than the rushed base game and hence the reviews were much better.
For this type of game reviews are tuff cause something has to be scored for each addition and as a whole the game rated good,sold great and has a HUGE community(much bigger and successful than other games they made in the past)
You don't know these things cause you likely just played the beta but yet have much to say.
If you claim otherwise we can easily look your guardian up.
But continue to hang in a thread that's about a game you have no interest in ok.
They released a soulless game that didn't have half of what they promised. Solid DLC a long time after release doesn't change that.
And no it's not hard. Reviewers reviewed the game Bungie released and they criticised it for it's many flaws.
Or should they not review games until the dev actually finishes the work a couple years after release.....

The game is still on the most played chart on Xbox (and more of the community is on PS). I don't know if the Xbox most played chart is still good (I think it is) and 2.5 years later and Destiny is still there. Higher than Division, Halo, Gears. That's long after the last DLC and not much new content wise.
What game of this type ever lives up to the hype? The story was a mess and never really got fixed, but the gameplay has always been solid.

It is still over games like Division. Halo and Gears. That's amazing for a game that is 2.5 years old. It was a lot higher than that before.
People are playing this game. The numbers have tailed off, simply because many people have hit max level.
And yet Wolf King is right and you are just spinning.
Oh...and Taken King did more wrong than right. It only reviewed better cause people went gaga over cutscenes. The story was still disjointed and written by 10 year olds. The weapons were worse. It still lacked content...and to top it off they rendered all year one content worthless and then have the cheek to call it new content when they update it.

Destiny 2 will be HUGE.

I'm Sorry .. i totally read it wrong , thought you said it was the most played . Me Personally , I never cared for Halo or gears of war as far as multiplayer goes .and that's all I play is competitive first person shooter games. I always played halo and Gears just for single player campaign . So they have always been a one and done kind of game for me . For destiny I had over 600 hours , battlefield 4 , 700 hours , black ops 3 , 300 hours . Didn't care for the new call of duty game . Just started battlefield 1 about about a month ago . Already at 60 hours . Probably my favorite battlefield game since bad company two . It's freaking awesome. I like to get my moneys worth out of most of my games as you can see . Lol

You guys really want to argue Division vs Destiny as far as player numbers go? Sure, Division had a good launch, but how many of those players stayed?
If Destiny failed to live up to the hype at launch (very fair) what game did manage to do that? One that is anything close to as ambitious as Destiny?

Nothings come close to GTA IV which is still going super strong.
As I've said if Bungie can actually deliver this time and don't have to rush it out to stop Activision getting stock then it could be special.

Plus Destiny is online only so it's even more skewed in the emboldeneds favour as they don't require an online connection.
I played both Destiny and The Division extensively and found enjoyment out of both. In my opinion its obvious that Destiny was the more polished game while sporting more engaging content. Destiny Raids were so well done while The Division's Incursions were so forgettable. The Division has come a long way to make it more fun but I feel Destiny is still way ahead of it when it comes to a loot shooter that keeps players coming back.
Can't speak for all of those games but bf1 and blops 3 are played mainly online . For bf1 on xbox there are always over 100k people online at primetime lately when I'm on . That is going to be the case with most of your competitive first person shooter games . No doubt destiny was up there for a long time . I was one of the many players on my friends list paying it non stop . I'm sure the new one will be the same . I for one will be playing it .
link to the 100k on xbox? Cause when I checked it..it was lower unless you are confusing the PS4 version which was 100+k when I checked.
