Yeah this is the #1 problem with the game, there's no real explanation of quests or how long or involved they are. Some are long but very simple (like the Travelers Chosen one), others are long and you need a fireteam at the end to get through them.

Whisper is a tough one to solo. It can be done, but I don't even have it. The thing is, they likely will dump those old quest exotics into the general pool at some point.

Best thing to do is google a quest and see how involved it is.
I don't even care for the gun that comes with that Whisper mission honestly, just wanted to get the triumph for this season as the eyes thing and one more hidden one is all I had left to do. I loaded up the mission and there were no enemies. Ran around for like 5 minutes and got nowhere. Figured it was glitched so I looked it up online and the regular mission starts with a platforming section. Quickly backed out and decided not to waste any more time lol.

Destiny 2 is proof that most of loot base games Don't know s*** about loot. That & the character's design are awful.

Most loots are stat sticks, number change & mods are along lines of "less damage against XXX" Maybe I am still far from "end game" but the loot are boring S so far.

Remnant by comparison has a far smaller team, but at least they get loot better than destiny. Each of the trinket (amulet, rings) do something interesting, unique, instead of just more numbers.

Imagine there is a boot that increases 5% speed every time you do a finishing move, up to 20%. Then there is a helmet that increases crit chance% for every % increase in movement speed, So there is a kind of synergy. As a simple example.

You nailed one of my absolute biggest problems with the game, and I really like Destiny. Actual synergizing builds are few and far between. Especially since they added the artifact. It basically makes you use the artifact subclass for the season.

Yeah, any jumping puzzles are hated by many of us. That's what keeps me out of the harder raids and dungeons. Basically you need to memorize a youtube video, and never miss a jump or you start over.

The big problem is two parts: balance and lack of end game content. There's little balance among perks on weapons, so you're pretty much always going to want the exact same thing, usually a reload and a damage perk (and a reload perk is basically a damage over time buff). Every gun has one or two rolls that are great, then maybe a couple more that are ok if that's all you have, the rest is junk.

If you posted a random gun and the perks it can roll with, most people would pick out the optimal roll and pick the same thing. Maybe you'd get some variation between PVP and PVE but that's about it.

On top of that, there's not a lot of endgame content that even forces you to max out anything. You can go through most of the seasonal content and never need to even worry about your armor mods lining up. Basically slap on a few ammo finders and you're fine.

They're supposed to add more of that in the latest DLC with the subclasses and such, but we'll see. They've said that before. My bet is that the new subclasses are just going to be overpowered and dominate.

Going to be some sort of end of season event. Not sure exactly when but likely sometime Monday. Not sure if we'll be standing around staring at something that takes hours again or not.

I pre-ordered but I'm not really sure I'm in the Destiny mood right now. May have to cancel and get it later, especially if I move back to consoles as I'd have to buy it again.

Rumor has it that the end of season event is sometime around 7pm eastern US time before the servers go down around 10pm? They are saying it will be even less than the last one which wasn't all that great. Not sure I want to sit in the tower for all that time again.

Destiny servers are at capacity. Hope this isn't a sign of how Beyond Lights launch is going to go.

Yeah I am expecting a giant mess. Remember, the game is "Free" now on Game Pass, so on top of the millions of regular Destiny players, you'll have a million others trying it out. You've got tons of people working from home and also tons of gamers home for the next gen consoles.

I signed on last night at 9pm and was 9700 in line so I went to bed.

The problem is, game publishers don't want to pay for the extra server capacity at launch to handle the insane few hours when everyone logs on.

I just assuming a mess until at least Wednesday.

9700 is crazy. Did they give you an expected wait time at all?

None, but at the rate the number was shrinking, there was no way I was getting in before they shut the servers down for maintenance. Apparently they cut things off with tons of people still in line.

Just imagine what launch is going to be like if almost 10,000 people were in line to see a live event that was poorly advertised.

Hopefully with the server maintenance they also were adding more servers to strengthen capacity.
