Iron Banner against 570 players is not a great experience lol.

Yeah it is not fun at all. D1 had this, but the drops would help you level up too. Plus in D1 the levels were so much lower they barely mattered.

It was bad enough running into 6 man fireteams, but now they have a level advantage too.

Some games aren't bad but when there is a a big level difference it's extremely noticeable.

Ever since reaching the Dreaming City, dipping the Raid chests and Iron Banner... I been satisfied.
It didn't start this way and the reward system with the tower vendors is a mess as is the odd some times lower light drops BUT I am
definitely starting to get the type of content i want and this is without counting the DC changes and added strikes(man Corruption is such a good one)

Short lived, though. Unless they add new weapons every Iron Banner--which they wont. And the loot is still too little regardless. Doesn't help that scout rifles are terrible...and the 15% buff isn't going to change that.

Strikes are pointless, so not worth doing. Did Corruption twice, eh...it is ok.

Dreaming city is actually a massive disappointment. Where are all these secrets it is filled with? Ascedent challenges are way too simple. The whole ''Spreading corruption'' thing is one big joke.

Way too much time-gated stuff.

Lost Sectors are still crap.

Public Events are pointless.

Flashpoint is a complete joke now.

Random Rolls is ruined by the random nature of loot drops. I shouldn't be getting Tangled Shore and vanguard gear in the dreaming city. And the two unique baron drops shouldn't be fixed rolls...as is they are worthless to the majority.

Typical bungie mess.

Your better than 99% of the best Destiny streamers then. They all say it's a huge difference.
Shocking. Streamers are full of s***.

If the difference was huge then why do I ever die to people 100 + levels below me? Yeah! Exactly.

Got the IB Pulse rifle with Range FInder last night, it wrecks. Only players I didn't destroy regularly were Masterworked Crimson users.

I played my 5 IB games and never looked back. It did seem like I was losing a lot of fights by a little bit. A tiny bit of damage difference is huge when two players of equal skill see each other in a 50/50 fight. Seemed like a lot of people killed me while they had a tiny sliver of health. That could have just been me not playing well though.

It is hard to tell if someone else is shooting you as well. I got the IB pulse rifle as one of my first drops and basically quit.

Does this happen to anyone else in the game? You get a drop, and then you get the exact item repeated 2-3 times just with different rolls? Maybe an Edge Transit mixed in. Maybe it is "these things always happen in 3s" fallacy, but I swear once I get a new gun, I expect to get 2 more copies of it soon.

Power does matter, but it wouldn't surprise me if they did some normalization behind the scenes. People who don't own any DLC are still like 260 or something and they can still play. My bet is that if you are < 500 they just treat you like 500. Just like how you could go into the Leviathan raid and no matter what power you really are you only get treated as like 305 or something (not sure the exact number).

It certainly felt like people 10+ power than me had an advantage. It isn't massive, but it didn't need to be. People basically see each other and start shooting.

Funny, people are griping about the shotguns being overpowered, but in the little time I played I only got killed by the old meta guns or the newer pulse rifles.

Got Edge Transit?

I’m forcing myself to play through this campaign right now in hopes that I’ll finally see what the big fuss of the raids is all about. Never played Destiny 1. Have not bought a single expansion yet. Will a raid be possible before buying anything additional? How many hours of leveling up did it take before being able to finally jump into a raid?

Not loving the game so far. It’s fine but the campaign single player is extremely boring. Feels like I’m punching into work. Waves of enemies do very little outside of provide headshot practice. When did this game click for you guys?

There's a good thread going on at the DestinyTheGame subreddit. There's a feedback thread for the power progression and it appears Bungie is actually listening.

Pop in and make your voice heard. I'm guessing Bungie sees the numbers for all players and is seeing the massive gap that is forming. You've got your very small top tier who are 570+, while most people are stuck lower.

I am officially burnt out on this game. Doing repetitive weekly milestones in order to get a .2 gain in power (if I'm lucky) is just too boring. I get the same guns over and over. Got another Edge Transit last night.

The time gating has destroyed this game. Instead of exploring content in the Dreaming City, I'm doing things on Mercury (from 2 DLCs ago) because it gives me a guaranteed powerful engram. Yawn.

I'm just failing to see the point right now. Hopefully they tweak the drop rates and fix the duplicates. There's just too many good games already out and more coming out this fall.

I'm finally taking the time to get Cayde' s gun. The 25 critical kills with hand cannon was made much easier in crucible rumble matches. Should have it by the end of the day.

I hated that part of the quest. People wouldn't stand still and let you shoot them in the face :)

I'd always end up having the kill shot be a body shot after a couple of precision shots.

I always wonder how the first few people ever figure these things out on their own? You know some person figured this all out and probably gets no credit for it as others just steal it.
Well the mission tells you which planets the chests are on and then text comes up on screen when you're in the general vicinity. I think people just share the locations on message boards and then people make videos.

I got up to 540 pretty quick . I pretty much used this guys video as a general way to get better drops . The weekly spider bounties /dreaming city bounties and nightfall also help a lot...

The problem is doing the Petra stuff is very difficult if you are only 520. Now that I'm 533 I'm just starting to be able to not get thrashed in those activities.

The Dreaming City has enemies that are 530 to start, which because of the way damage scales is very hard to take down.

I'm really just able to do that stuff now this week.

Yes, the dreaming city Quest and bounties are extremely tough when you’re in the 520s. I also forgot to mention most the time I’m playing with my childhood best friend as well. so having another player with you makes that part a lot easier. We have pretty much been trying our best to get raid ready in a timely manner . Absolutely loved the last raid . Had awesome gear/loot and the final boss was a lot of fun. Even on the hard raid . Only took about 10 completions to get full raid gear . so looking forward to this one because it looks really, really good .

I guess my big gripe isn't that it is too hard to level up (I think it is too grindy anyway), but the problem is the rewards along the way.

What rewards can I get along the way? Exotics? Not likely. Random rolls on legendaries are nice, but only go so far. Maybe I'll get a god roll Truth, but chances are it will just be more Edge Transits and old year 1 stuff that is completely useless. Supposedly there's year 1 guns that random roll, but I have yet to see any. Think I got a Better Devils with basically explosive rounds plus a trash perk so essentially the same gun.

Coming into this weekend, should I play 1-2 hours or 10-12? The extra effort will get me a few more points of power, but what else? The drop rate is just so low and unrewarding. Now Bungie is taking 2-3 more weeks to "fix" the Edge Transit thing by dropping useless year 1 heavies.

So far all of my really good exotic drops have come from nightfall . Come to think of it ..those are the only exotic drops I have yet to get it . Lol. I have yet To hit the target score for nightfall, but it’s always been a two-man fire team with my friend and I. If we had a third player we could probably do it. supposedly the drops for hitting the high score are really good .
