Oh noes. Val is even displeased, now you know bungie is really screwing up.

Bungie isn't lazy. There have been numerous stories about how awful their engine is to work with. If you look, every DLC they come out with is a different studio. They are throwing coders at it as best they can.

Not long ago, people asked for a way to mass delete shaders. Simple, right? Well, no it was a major pain in the ass for them to make (and was still half @ssed).

Of course they get me mad at them and then win me back with this.

Another pointless eververse emote. Awesome! Just another eververse event with rehashed armour and if we are super lucky maybe a reskinned old weapon. Yay!

Yeah the lack of weapons is the big issue. I have had one new gun drop in the past 2 months (and no exotics of which I still need several).

What is funny is it is so easy to just play for Eververse stuff that nobody pays. Probably another reason why their revenues are down.

plenty pay, don't worry about that.

Bungie making a few more changes towards the good (unfortunately I gotta keep playing to get my annual pass value out) :(

Prime engrams are going to be more frequent and better under 600.

They are also making power ammo in pvp less frequent, which is long overdue IMHO. One of the many things that broke PVP.

The more I look at "what went wrong", part of it is the gamers who Bungie is now listening too as well. I don't know who they are listening to anymore, but it isn't the D1 crowd. I think the PC crowd is new to Destiny and it is pretty clear they never touched D1. They seem to be the ones pushing the game in wrong directions.

Yeah i strongly disagree with most opinions in this thread.

There's lots of people on Reddit who think the game is in the best spot ever. I had to turn my notifications off on my phone for the Reddit app because I make one negative complaint and my phone explodes.

The best way I can say it is I think people are confusing grind with loot grind.

The game feels like a chore I have to do every week like take out the garbage, not something I want to play.

They put random rolls on some of the best guns from year 1! But all I ever get is some year 2 primary sniper and that edge transit grenade launcher.

There's just not enough loot. Sure, grinding to 600 is one heck of a grind. I did 2 milestones this week and got 0.1 power levels higher. If I was getting more loot, that would be more tolerable, but it just isn't. I haven't changed my loadout in weeks. I just plug along and do the easy milestones.

It just feels empty. It also hurts that so many gun types are completely useless. They've done nothing to even bring a relative balance even in PVE. Pulse and auto rifles are the only viable primaries.

Missed opportunity by Bungie not adding Y1 armor with random rolls and matchmaking for the Blind Well and EP.

Hopefully the raid is good because there's not really anything exciting about Black Armory but then again you can't really expect much from content that costs less than Curse of Osiris.

Been grinding away on Gambit to get the amazing new auto rifle.
Tonight I got "the meatball" to spawn for the first time ever to start the Malfeasance quest.
We killed it first by like a second before the other team finished off theirs.
The other team must of been choked huge.

I honestly don't know how people could be so critical of this game. I dare say it's probley now my most favorite game of all time.
There is so much to see and do it's almost overwhelming. Anyone who says this game is lacking in content clearly hadn't taken the time to unlock all it's secrets, and probley don't even know they exist. Best console gunplay in history. Beautiful graphics and great music and sound effects.

It isn't a content problem, but a loot problem. They made the game a long grind, but what people want is a loot grind.

Maybe you haven't hit the "wall" yet, but you will. From like 550-650 I've gotten so little meaningful loot. Sure, they throw in a gun like the Breakneck of Avalanche, but otherwise, my loadout hasn't really changed in months. Sure, I get a new armor piece that is +1 something I have so I equip it until I get something else. Nothing has meaning though.

I average one exotic drop per month. The problem is, most of them are garbage. My last one I got a sword which I'll never use. The last time I got a shotgun that eats through ammo so fast that it is nearly useless.

The game doesn't lack things to do, but rewards for doing them. Right now a level at about .1 power level per drop. I can get 10-15 of those per week. That's a long slog from 608-650. All so I can play one new activity that will give me a handful of new guns. That's months more grinding.

A lot of people like it, so maybe I'm wrong. It just feels like D2 lost something.

I went from 615 to 630 in 2 days.
The Forge, Gambit and strikes are all fun.
I love my Breakneak auto rifle and Hammerhead machine gun sooooo much. Its hard to take Hammerhead off even for Whisper or Sleeper.

I am still too low level for the forges. I stopped leveling at 580 because I got bored. Then they raise the cap to 650 and make the entry level 610+ (which they've never done).

The other problem is so many weapon types are garbage in PVE. I realize balancing PVP is tough, but PVE? Scout rifles still are horrible. I get scouts with god rolls on them and they still don't outdamage pulse and auto rifles.

I'm 609 now so hopefully can find some fun in the forges.

I'm just really burnt out of leveling in this game. The forges should have started at 600, but they simply wanted to force people to wait a few days to level up more before they did them. Gambit is the only real enjoyment I get out of this game, but once I play 3 matches for the week, that's it. No more leveling up.

I have at least found that i have some fun when i get behind and can do a few things at once. When i hit a wall and try to keep going it becomes unfun. They can't seem to find the balance between not having to grind too much(D2Y1) and having to grind out every little thing(now), even getting glimmer is now a grind WTF. Its always an extreme.

Is Black Armory as barebones as it seems? Osiris and Warmind weren't great but at least they had some story to them.

Yes, Black Armory is barebones.

That's been the problem with D2. At launch, the game was too easy and empty. Now, everything is just too extreme of a grind. Basically, you have to drop every other game you play to even have a chance at staying close. Today I'm grinding on 609 trying to get to 610 so I can try a forge. Going through single player missions and everything just for the hope that a +1 drop actually lands in the slot I need.

I plan on getting to this game one day. I liked the first one.

What level (realistically) do you need to be to beat the first forge? I am 613 and haven't even come close. There's just not enough time to do enough damage.

My recent experience is exactly what is wrong with this game. So, it is Sunday on a long holiday weekend. I have lots of time to play, but no, everything that would help me level up this week has already been done. No point playing now until Tuesday afternoon.

I spent a few hours yesterday grinding matchmaking on the first forge. I kept getting matched with people underleveled. Finally, I come across 2 620+ players and we get it done. My reward? A machine gun with a bad roll that's no better than the 2 I already have. I don't gain one point in power level because the powerful drop I get is also an Edge Transit. Both fell at the same level as stuff I already had, so nothing.

There's no progress. There's no rewards. Just punishing grind leading to more punishment. I haven't seen an exotic in weeks. I'm low on enhancement cores, so I can't even infuse old ones and optimize my build. I just have to run with what I get.

This isn't endgame, this is "no end" game. Let's just say I put 10-15 hours in the game the next few days. I'm off of work and that's easily realistic. What am I going to get out of it? There's too much chance that the answer is absolutely nothing.

There's just too many other games I can be playing.

You should be 620 and over ideally for the first two forges.
You're not going to get high drops just by doing forge event alone. You have to purchase powerful frames from Ada and complete the steps with the final step being a forge run.
You can only buy two frames per day.

Decided to do the Malfeasance quest this week. The final quest step is to kill 25 opponents total as an invader and get a team wipe in a single invasion. I got it done in two matches with 20 kills in one match and 3 team wipes between the two games. I was a one man wrecking crew.

This game is like golf. Frustration after frustration, then that one thing that brings you back. I was playing a Gambit match just to get a powerful drop. Get put on some horrible team that has no clue how to play. At the end of the round I finally get the Queensbreaker Bow to drop. I swear the game is programmed to know when you are about to quit and gives you something just to keep you going.

I hope the sandbox adjustments at the end of the month help add some weapon variety.

Now that I'm 620 hopefully I can have a little more fun in the forges.

I switched platforms in D1 and I'll never do it again, especially in D2. Hats off to those with the patience to do it.

They likely have something in there like that. I hadn't played since before the black armory and my first eververse engram gave me the throwdown emote, it was like them saying "hey kid want some more of these" lol. Bungie has put a lot of social engineering tactics to use so I wouldn't put it past them. That's why i like to stop when i feel the grind, chasing the white whales of +1 power drive me crazy.

I have to admit, the forges are growing on me now that I'm actually high enough level do to ok in them. 610 level requirement my rear end though. Even at 620 they are easy to not finish. Getting the re-rolled year 1 stuff is kind of fun.

The level grind is the worst though. This is something that D1 had but it was never central. Now, that +1 is central to everything. Not to mention it is all RNG based.

The game still needs a major patch to add some more "fun" and less tedium.
